Someone told me that if you deny them the right to search it, they can use that as probable cause. It is so stupid if that is true.

LOLOLOL that "somebody" is a moron, you can refuse that's why they ask is because they don't have jack all on you. If a police officer pulls me over and says license and registration I never give it to him until he provides me with what the charges are. Often they are just trying to fill a quota but don't get me wrong about 60% of cops are good guys.

60% sounds like a pretty poor % to me...
 
there is a cop in monroeville like that where i live. me and my best friend got pulled over in his cobalt he had at the time with tinted taillights and he gave us such a hard time that my usual quiet friend snapped at him telling him he'd take them off when he got home.. after that it was ridiculous to the point that when we were hanging out in a parking lot he figured out where we hung out and one night literally came up OFF DUTY in his PERSONAL CAR and watched us to call the cops on us when we pulled in this lady came across lanes and we almost hit her so his brakes screeched when he slammed on his brakes that he called the cops on us and tried to get him charged with reckless driving. and street racing. COME ON. that was two years ago and to this day if he sees us driving around he pulls us over. everytime saying that we have out of date stickers. or we were speeding... really. really. cant find something better to do. cops like that need to get a new f***ing job.
 


Just to join in on this rant, I backed out of a driveway and was fined. The cops hate my car as i removed the resonator and put dual dynomax mufflers on it (95 gtp). He claims i pulled out in front of him. He was at the stop sign of a six-way intersection i have in my town. He was flashing the lights before i even pulled away hardly. He was a prick to me the whole time. Asking if this was my car, and that I was sure this was my car..like WTF...They follow me all the time around town, and once while i was parked with my friends in a parking lot they approached my car from behind and claimed they smelt alcohol in my car. I was like "are you kidding me". I havent had a drink in over a year lol and they come up with these storys and lies. Cops have done nothing for me except raise my insurance and idle in drivethrus getting their burgers. If I was driving my mother's sebring they would never even blink at me. I have been recently because my car's headgasket blew and i go about 55-60ish everywhere and they dont do a thing.
 
i know the harrassment all too well. i have deep hatred for cops. i once got pulled over for imaginary street racing. car was running rich and i had some carbon on the plugs.
i nailed it on the highway by my house. there was nobody around anywhere. WOT run to about 65 in a 55 zone... when i saw him coming i shut down, then he pulled me over in my driveway. he asked why i did that. i said ive had some tuning problems, so i nailed it to check for a miss.
he then says lemme tell you something boy, if your tuning on the street your street racing. we can take away your license and have you put in jail for that. im like theres nobody out here but you and me how am i street racing? and my laptop is not in here so im not tuning. dumbass.
of course he didnt cite me, he couldnt. he just wanted to be a dick. he had a right to pull me over, cant blame him for that, but being an ass was uncalled for.

the next day there were 2 kids riding their ninjas about 120 mph up and down the highway. nobody says anything about that. even if i called to report them they wouldnt do anything. what does that tell me? its pure harrassment because of the car and who is driving.

I totally agree that the cops don't really care 'whats' done more than 'who did it' or 'in what'. While I haven't been pulled over in my gtp yet, I've been pulled over for the most stupid reasons in my truck, which the only reason I can tell is cause it is red... I got pulled over by a cop from behind for not having my numbers posted on my gearshifter, pulled over for watching movies on my CD player, and pulled over for having tires that are too big- 31x10.5R15, the factory tire size.... all by the same cop every time!

They really need to be focusing more on people *actually* causing problems than bothering people just because they are driving something they don't like.
