Will A 99 GTP DHP PCM work in a 98 GTP

Im getting a 99GTP pcm for my 98 GTP and was wondering if it will run right, I was told that it 98-02 PCM are interchangable, Has anyone had experience with this that knows?

yes. they are the same. it is also better to have a 99 .bin since that is when they figured out how to make the car run well.

****, that's right. 98s have that stupid retardo MAF. i never had to deal with that because i always had a 99+ MAF in my 98.

get a new throttle body at the same time and call it good. or hog out the one you have and put in a 99+ MAF. then youll be set.

it might run...it might run badly, im not sure because i never tried it. youre going to need a 99+ style MAF for the calibration to be right. you CAN use a 99+ style MAF in your current throttle body, but youll have to hog it out and get rid of that beam that runs down the middle of the throttle body. the bolt pattern of the MAF is the same.

hogging out the 98 TB and drilling a new hole for the 99+ MAF would still require a tune, though, since the diameter the MAF is reading is different than it would be in a stock 99+ TB.

youd still have the 99 MAF and the right calibrations for it. im not saying that he shouldnt get a tune, but the car would run alright for the time being.

No, the calibration depends on the exact cross section of the bore that the MAF is reading from. A bored out 98 is going to have a different cross section than a stock 99.
