Exhaust Issue (w/ vid)

Ummm...it's cold? Most new Mustang V6's do that. It is due to the condensation built up in the restrictive stock exhaust system. Once it warms up it goes away...nothing to worry about. Now if it starts smoking like crazy all the time then you need new head gaskets :p

Smoking at start-up can also be attributed to badly worn valve seals. I couldn't tell from the video, but does the smoke have a blue-ish tint to it or is just white?

How many miles are on the car?

Explain? Are you saying its due to water build up in the fuel that only gets burned on start up ?

Im just saying condensation build-up from winter to summer over years will lead to water in the mufflers, gas-tank, lines etc... You only really see it on cold starts because when it heats up, condensation evaporates. Don't worry about it, it looks normal. If it had a greyish blueish tint then worry about it :th_thumbsup-wink:

109,000 KM, its hard to tell if it has a blueish tint. Its not very blue but it does make a sort of smoke cloud

That's probably oil smoke, then. My guess is that you've got some worn valve seals. They're not too expensive or hard to replace.

Interesting, anyone know the estimated time to replace the value seals on all-data in hours? Or the cost a shop would do it for about

Its very unfortunate I did not notice this when purchasing the car, I took it for 2 test drives, the first one was while it was raining very heavy, and the second time they backed the car out of its parking lot, since it was parked infront of other cars. They got the car e-tested, which surrpises me that it might be burning some oil.

I don't know if the dealership would do anything about this issue, but I should go there to talk to them.

Go talk to them first. If they refuse, then look into getting the seals and re-doing them yourself. I'm going to guess 4-5 hours of slow, careful labor.

An update on this issue: I ended up calling the dealership, but they didn't offer anything. The car skill blows a huge cloud of blue when starting, but makes 0 blue when driving, so I dont think im going to do anything at all

just check your oil once in a while and when its low add some. guys with small block chevys have this problem all the time. youll be fine.

What?

To the OP, just looks like a cold start to me. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I shoulod of took the picture farther out, what smoke at the start, makes a blue cloud that hangs around for awhile and smells like oil burning :)
