ok guys so i thinki found the vac leak.....my trims arre at +16.4 ....but when i spray carb cleaner all around the base of the sc and go check my trims they are at 9.4, and 2-3 mins later they go back to 16.4...now i thought carb cleaner causes a raise in idle and i dont get that....is it possible that the leak is so small that only a very small amount of carb spray makes it in and the carb spray seals the leak momentarily with fluid? im thinking bad sc gasket yeah?

Re: vac leaks AHH

no, it is your vacuum leak stalling the car. use carb spray to find the vacuum leak.

Re: vac leaks AHH

Start the car, Pop the hood open and spray all of the vacume lines and where there is a gasket at. If there is a vacume leak that you can not see or hear you will find it like this. The engine's idle speed will speed up rather quickly when it starts to burn the carb cleaner or brake cleraner or what ever you decide to use.

Have any codes? Try looking at the two lines that press on to the EVAP canister near the firewall. Make sure those are pushed all the way on. That was my first vacume leak on my car.

Re: vac leaks AHH

yeah i got codes but only 02 codes p0133 and p1137 i sprayed my lines and fixed one vac line and now i get 11.3 LTFT's but everyonce and awhile it will go to 16.4 for a lil bit...intermittent leak!! AHH thats gonna be fun to find..

Try the spot i mentioned. That can cause an intermittent leak

Re: vac leaks AHH

ill check those could it be a bad sc gasket when in took mine off to paint it was kinda jacked up...never changed it

Re: vac leaks AHH

sorry ot kinda jack this thread but my car has been idling at like 1000 lately... could this be from a vacuum leak?

Re: vac leaks AHH

It's possible. These car's are not like carburated cars where if there is more air entering the engine the idle is going to speed up. There is a desired Idle speed set in the PCM. And that is where the idle stays under certain conditions. If there is a vacume leak usually all that will happen is that you will throw a lean condition code and/or have 16.4 fuel trims.

I'd try cleaning your TB and IAC passages. And depending on what the temp is outside or when you are seeing the increased idle (like first startup in the morning) it could be normal.

Re: vac leaks AHH

so could it be the sc gasket tdc? i got jacked and my question got skipped :) btw what is the stock rpm speed set at? i see about 750 when its idling correctly...

Re: vac leaks AHH

stock idle is something like 850, but your tachometer in the car will read slightly off. it isnt the most accurate gauge.

could be the supercharger gasket, could the the throttle body gasket, could be the lower intake gaskets..CARB SPRAY!

Hey I sent you a pm

If the carb cleaner is changing your fuel trims period... you have found the leak.

Go get a new S/C gasket and make sure when you remove it, you scrape ALL of the old gasket off.

carb spray will make your idle change noticeably. either it is ungodly small or you havent found it yet.
