run 3rd gear. best numbers you can get and youll surprise al the haters at youre school by doing about 150 mph. :)

ha i know i need a tune bad YES YES YES THATS MY PLAN I WANNA IMPRESS THE HATERS!! can anny1 in the area around me help me out i literally have NO cash ha any1 got a tuner that can help me out before saturday at 9 am ha

Let the car sit and cool a while before you get on the dyno. If a bunch of kids are going to be running it, make sure they know how to strap down a car before putting yours on. Make sure they don't hook the straps onto the radiator support. Do a third gear pull and if there is a fan there take your headlight out and point the fan so it is blowing colder air over the intake area. If you have stock rims and tires use them, those bullets are a bit on the heavy side for rotating mass.

IMO a dyno is a waste of time, especailly on these cars. These cars can run quick at the track, but there no dyno queens by no means.

I'm gonna have to agree with UR LOSN..... gas pedal is on the right... make sure to step on it

Iron, you are right... dynos are a waste of time and money

but i guess if its free, enjoy

yeah guys its free my school is hosting it its a mustang dyno mustang being the name its fairly new and pretty nice. do you think i should change my oil"i have to soon anyways" before or after the dyno session on saturday??? ok gotcha 3rd gear pulls =p anymore tips guys?

treat it like you would on race day

change your oil right before you get to the track, then change it right after

yea... and do it after

you run cars hard it's a god idea to change the oil afterward, just my .02

I change my oil once a month, and if I drive hard... more... if anyone cares, haha

A dyno can be a useful tool, although a lot of folks just go to get a number they can brag about. The dyno will give you the performance curves, and match the A/F ratio to it. Only once you know what your curves look like can you really fine tune your shifting. For a GTP with a wideband, a tuner, and a driver that is "willing" to push the limits of the law to tune, the dyno has little value. I ran my other toy on the dyno and was able to advance the distributor as well as key in the A/F to 13:1. I now know where to set the shift light. The GTP, I cannot see the dyno being worth while.
