Working on my 1.9 rockers

I'm working on my backside now and i can't seem to get the lockers off, well i got one off but everytime i compress the spring down the valve goes down with it. I'm pretty sure i got enough air going through my compression gauge to the head. So idk what to do.

use compressed air, use an adpter that you put in the spark plug location and hook up an air hose to it. that should solve the problem of the valve falling, and to get the locks off when the spring is compressed tap the top of the valve with a hammer.

Yep, this is exactly what I did for mine. I used a good rubber mallet to "loosen" the locks before removing. They would do the same thing yours is doing. Took probably 3 or 4 taps a valve to free em up enough to use my compressor tool. My springs had 150,000 miles on them when I replaced them, so they were "locked in" good!

I'm all set, I grabbed the wrong hose than i used the day before, the hose that wasnt working right had a shrader valve in it. Thanks for the help.
