• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Hmmm....I didn't read it till now I could of cared less but since it was a locked thread and I was curious.
Anyway, yep I think you are right it will never happen.
Well whatever I guess we'll just have to be extra dilligent in keeping this forum extra SQUEEKY clean as we don't want to offend or upset anyone because......well you know, we all need to be "PC"!!

We need a private forum!!!!!!!!!
1. The oldies should be allowed in or seasoned people. AKA Me Shawn, Chance, Scott, Kent. Heck we Most of us been through 3-4 carnations of the forum before it hit this one :)
2. Known Supporters of the forum.

I'm aware of that. But it does not matter who OWNS the forum. A decision to do with the forums is decided upon by ALL of the admin mods.


I think the idea you have is a good approach. I think the main issue is everyone will think it will ''downgrade'' the reputation of the forums. I think that is really tha main issue.


Will it? I doubt it. But it could possibly. Worth a try? Sure.



I would not be down for the 10.00 thing either.

I don't think that it would downgrade the forum any it might even pique interest .
I don't have a problem with a small fee or a donation to obtain a password. It would allow only people who really want to be in the area access.
The donation would be made with a CC and this would also help keep the younger people out of the area that they shouldn't be allowed into anyway. The donation would help defray expenses that keep the forum running.
A Beta v.1 Private Area could be done for a three month trial and then see how it goes.
Any other ideas?
 
Well the "special" forum on another place im a member of does not show up unless your part of that group! Like I went to my friends and he was logged on under his name and I was like wtf?! Where did it go and he said O' I never joined! So NO ONE would EVER know it was there unless they was a member.

That is very true, it was like that at another site I was a member of.

Well, heres the way I look at it. When I do business with someone or if something is shady (such as a credit card charge for example). I don't want to talk to some attendent or some lead man, I wanna talk to the man period. Thats how I roll.

And the fact of the matter is, that if it does or doesn't happen Chance will be doing the changes (setting it up) if it happens, no one else. Sure they'll have votes and what not on there private forum, who likes, who dislikes. But the main man no matter how you cut it is Chance. No point in arguing about this, it is what it is.

As for downgrading the forum, Scotty is the main one who thinks it will. The majority here who are actully members on other forums and who experiance the real world know otherwise. How is something going to downgrade a forum when its private and YOU choose to join it or not? I think its pretty silly we have to consider hiding it anyway since other forums really don't, but to make it work for everyone here private only is probably the best and only route. I don't see this being a big deal personally. Not asking for much really. Its not like we're not negotiating the idea either. Alot of good ideas were posted on this thread.

Uh huh. Thats why I don't see this request being that big of a deal. Only the people that "belong" there will be in there.
