New Recall News Article posted on Yahoo.com

This isn't quite the same as the L67 recall. I've seen the detailed bulletin and only calls for a replacement of the wire holder. Nothing to do with the valve cover gasket.

Huh, I thought maybe GM just decided to start the recall with the supercharged engine then get around to the others when they had enough parts

This recall just opened on april 10th and doesnt even have any information attached on work going to be done on recall yet,ive got my car info on my screen right now, just waiting for a update

Just got my new update letter,,two new spark plug wire retainers will be installed and remove the plastic plug wire channel, but parts wont be in stock until some time in may and letters wont even be sent out until may

You still have to take it in when you get the paper.whether it was done with the valve cover or not.

I've got a P-log installed, with no heat shield, so there's nowhere for oil to pool on the front. Guess I'll skip this one.

they did that to mine when i got my valvecover recall done and i made them put the cannel back on because it looked like **** and the way they do it hangs the wires too close to the header for my liking. and they pinched the new gasket when they put it in so i had to redo it myself.

Wouldn't it make more sense to fix the potential oil leak than to put some retainer on? I want to take mine in to try to get them to replace the catalytic converter under that recall anyway so I guess I will ask about it then.

If you had the recall 7035 done a bit back with the gasket nutcase,it is the same parts for the plug wire retainers,so you may not even get a notice, but no gasket changed this recall, and for a converter recall white gt,i dont remember seeing one, unless you still fall under the 8 year ,80000 mile converter warranty

if youre not the original owner will you still get a letter? i dont see how they know who other than the original owners have one. not sure how this whole thing works...

It says there has to be a failure such as lack of power or a check engine light. Not sure if there is anything really wrong on mine or not but we could all use more power right! Haha.

Just had mine done. It was a simple fix of replacing the spark plug wire channel with retaining clips. Took about 10 minutes to fix. Since I have been going to this dealership for years i have a personal relationship with the service writer and he held back one of the 2 set of parts they had in stock for the recall. He told me this morning that the parts are on backorder. :-)
