what do i have 06 grand prix GT sc or non

hear is my question i have a grand prix i pulled all the electrical out of i know its an 06 and im almost positive it is a gt. but it had no motor or wiring in it and its been crushed so i cant check the vin. but i need to knoe if it was supercharged or not. from what ive heard i thing all 05 and up GTs were all supercharged but im not sure..... what do yall think? have you ever seen a N/A 06 GT
 


so if i needed a motor and harness i could use the 04-05 GTP stuff correct? what year did the drive by wire start?
 
Not sure what you mean by drive by wire but the do you mean the motor mounts though? Those can come out of any 3800 V6.
 
well thats what ive heard is drive by wire. but instead of a throttle cable, the throttle plate is opened by a servo on the throttle body. i just wanna know if the motor and harness out of a 04-05 gtp is the same as the motor and harness out of a 06 gt
 


You can't put an 06'+ Motor in a 04'-05' I don't recall what it is exactly but it just won't work (it'll fit) just not work.
 
there is a few difference with the 04-05 and 06-07 motors. if its a comp g from 04-05 then the gearing is different and that will throw things off with the computer. i would shoot for an 06-07 motor.

and yes 04+ are no longer drive by wire with the throttle body. its controlled by the pcm electronically
 
ok next question... what transmission came in my car? its not the comp g so what tranny came in mine and what other years has this tranny also?

The PCM's are different.

Technically since 2003. I have a transmission pretty much like yours. They were going to swap body styles in '03 but figured...well lets just throw the transmissions in them instead. Hence why you cannot use a '03 PCM in any other car. Puts the transmission into Limp Mode and keeps you in 2nd gear all the time...its fun.

That's what I thought too but I hear it's more than that.

So the 2003 transmissions are EXACTLY the same?
