• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

headers

whaaaaat? mine were easy as crap to seal. actually, the other day i found one of the bolts on my crossover completely out and it was still sealed. tightened that up and was good to go.

Well...shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit...WTF:th_wtf:

no lies, honestly to god. 1/2 of the bolts on the crossover just hanging there and it is still sealed? im still sold on these headers no matter what anyone else has to say. i would buy these things over any other set of headers including ZZP because i straight up do not trust slip fit garbage. TOGs had the right idea with the donut gaskets, but i just dont like the 3 piece design they had. i couldnt get my TOGs to seal worth dick. it is probably because the guys before me tightened them down too much and 'ovaled' out the joints, but i still think a two piece designed header is way way way way.....wwaaaaaayyy easier to install and make fit. i just wish ZZP headers weren't slip fits..

Ya S&S's seal up real well. I do have an exhaust leak however, but that's just cause a rusted chunk fell off the flange of my stock catback lol.

Is there not a cheaper place to get S&S than $717 + shipping for DP and cat'd version? I just noticed ZZP no longer has the Pacesetters up, and the only other place I can find them is WBS (who I'm not looking forward to ordering from if I have to). They're only $360 though...

im not sure if WBS actually still sells them because i think they are turning into a ZZP distributor. if i were to do it again i would buy uncoated ones and wrap them myself to save money and have a more performance oriented header.

I despise header wrap, so I'll probably be getting whatever I buy coated.

I still like the Pacesetters with band clamps.

Polished Stainless......Nuff said

no i dont mean how nice and polished they are... thats a plus, but how they are made... its perfect, and thos big primaries. love those headers

Damn Reptile, those headers sure are purdy! Makes me want to go polish mine up a bit.

One of the problems that people have with TOG's is that during a batch (the first batch under the new ownership i believe) the flange on the rear header that connects to the crossover can be a little bit awkward. I had some issues with that, as did the guy that I bought my TOG's from.
Here's one guy's solution.....
I'm told that TOG updated the design and all of the recent batches have been perfectly fine.

Also - I know that alot of people have issues with the trans dipstick, but for those of you with the '04-'05 Monte Carlo and Impala SS's, I think they updated the dipstick style for the L67 for those years and it fits just fine. I didn't have to bend mine and it isn't touching anything (or even close to doing so). Other guys with the '04-'05 L67 have said the same thing (most of them had actually bought the pre-bent dipstick tube beforehand and realized it matched theirs exactly)
In fact, I heard a rumor that the "pre-bent" dipstick tube that some vendors sell is actually an OEM part that came exactly that way.

-Riggs.

And people were giving me crap about selling water deflectors.....where's that guy now?

It's the same shape on the 04-05 Impala/Monte L36s as it is on the 04-05 Impala/Monte L67s. So that should open the door for someone wanting to hit up a junkyard for one...
