low coolant light flashing

well on my way to work this morning my low coolant light felt like it wanted to start flashing. :th_scratchhead: its like a steady on off on off flash. my coolant is fine and still at the right level. i havent really had a chance to diagnose it yet but i was curious to see if anyone else ever encountered the same problem.

thanks in advance

If your coolant is full, and no leaks, most likely it's the low coolant sensor.

It's right in the radiator near the battery. I'd put a drain pan under that area, remove the electrical connector and the wire clip that holds the sensor to the radiator, then quickly pull the old sensor out and put the new one in.

You'll lose a little coolant but not much. Leave the radiaor cap on when you do it, and obviously you want the engine cold. Hope that helps.

When you say it's full, did you actually check the level in the radiator or are you just going by the overflow bottle? If you're just going by the overflow bottle, that's not an accurate way to tell how much coolant is in your system.

Had the same thing happen to me but I knew why mine was going off, the fluid decided to turn into a hard from a liquid so I had chunks floating around making my car mad even though the fluid was to the top of the radiator cap.

yeah my coolant looks a little ****ty so im going to take this opportuntity to swap from dex to green while im doing the sensor, im even thinking about getting the aluminum radiator from zzp. anyone use one if these yet? how do you like it?

Do not go to green, at least not yet. It does not play well with DexCool, and there is always a little left behind somewhere. Use the yellow, all-inclusive coolant to be safe. Check the HowTo section here on the bigger radiator, save some money.
