Hello all,

I have a 07 SC GP, and my modes are listed in my sig. I am looking to drop my pulley size and would like to know what you think would be the correct size, where to purchase it, and would I feel and notice the differnce along with my current modes.

Thoughts???

Thanks guys and gals..........

I think the size should be what you have.

Get a DP and Plog or headers setup before you start dropping pulley sizes. How much KR do you currently have?

if you looks at my mods i have what it takes for a 3.6mps. i might be able to pull off a 3.5 but wont mess with it until i get rockers. your pcm should be tuned for a pulley also.

i wouldnt drop pullies either. you really dont have much of anything done. get a downpipe or some headers and then THINK about a pulley.

Let me ask you a question...just how far down the rabit hole do you want to go? If you're just going small time, go with a downpipe and maybe later a p-log from over at ZZP. If you're going big eventually, then don't waste the money and go straight to headers. TOGs are still second to none and 3800 Performance is the only real place to go for those. I have had 2 sets of TOGs (standard then upgraded to the Extremes), both Silver Ceramic, and I love them.

As for pulleys...oh yes, you will feel the difference. But like the others have said, worry about the supporting mods first. Without them you may not only loose power, but hurt your engine. And before you start droping pullies, make sure you have the ability to scan for KR.

I was think more of going with a P-log and a down pipe, and of course a pulley. What size pully would I drop to and whold zzp be the place to purchase this also, and if so which one.

I do have a Aero force scan gauge currently.
If possible with my curreny mods and with the downpipe, P-log, and pully what kind of HP would I generaly be pulling? 300?

you will feel the difference the plog makes, for sure.

make sure you get an MPS pulley (modular pulley system) that way you can swap pulleys 10x easier. You can get them at ZZP, Smoothflowpulleys.com, Intense to name a few. If your car is still underwarranty and you are freaked out abuot modding your GP while its under warranty, ZZP sells a press-on pulley that looks identical to stock. And of course you will need a pulley-puller to get the stock one off, which can be bought for around $100-125 or you can rent them from ZZP for $35.

With your mods and it being a GenV its been recommended to start with a 3.6 and then scan to see if you can drop to a 3.5". Thats seems to be the safeway.

By performing the mentioned changes- PL-DP-Pulley what kind of HP do you think I will pull?

I am past my factory 36,000 warranty, but have a extended warranty. I am not really that concerned about addding mods. The dealer would have to prove that any chnages caused any issues.

When it comes to a power log do I just do the front since it is the most restricted? Or both front and rear. As far as the DP do I just get this at ZZP along with the PL and the pully. What is the best place online to get the mods (MPS pully, PL-DP)

thanks

the rear is not that bad stock. i would buy it all from ZZP since that is the only place to buy a powerlog.

i would get the stainless one for a powerlog.

for the downpipe get a 3", but the cat depends on you. i personally would keep the cat, but that's because i dont like having smelly, dirty exhaust.

i wouldnt drop anything lower than a 3.5.

just remember, this stuff is not the end all and be all. youre going to need a tune to take advantage of it all, which cannot be stressed enough.

Ok i got you on the PL, ON THE 3" dp do I need to replace my current cat? Or do I get a 3" shorty. There are many option on the option section

and I will have will at overkill reprogram my PCM

Bolt in offroad is a setup that would remove the cat. Bolt in with cat setups come with an aftermarket cat. Weld in with cat is the same, just without the flange to connect to the stock catback. Weld in shorty will need to be welded to your stock cat.
