• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

pulled my buddies vtec honda by two lengths!

When you stage, tach up to around 2-3 thoousand rpms. When you get your light, let off the brake and roll into the throttle.

yeah, the guy i raced has a buddy who wants to race me w/ a prelude si w/ a body kit, 5-spd, pcm upgrade, cold air, magnaflow exhaust, headers, fuel rail, and possibly a turbo by the time the track opens. i think ill get him though i am having trouble w/ traction on launch, any pointers or things I could do b4 the race that wouldnt cost too much?

What mods do you have? At the track -- Check your tire pressure. Too much pressure will cause wheel spin. I usually set the front tires @ 32psi and the rears @ 40psi (helps squating). Take your traction control off. For launching - 1800 RPMs and slowly roll into the throttle. On the last yellow light, go! Just dont punch it. May take a few times, but you'll get it.

As for my mods I have flowmaster 40's, res replaced w/ 22" cherry bomb glasspack, u-bend delete, Cold Air, Bosch platinum +4 plugs, and General Altimax HP tires, but by the time we race I plan to have a tuned pcm and possibly a 3.4 pulley. I will take your advice about the tires though I never really thought about that. thanks for the launching advice though. I have an automatic so should I leave it in drive or shift it from 1? I noticed that when I shift it manually from 1 it seems to be faster, but i dunno if its good for the tranny, sorry I know its kind of a noob question.

just 32? i go down to like 24psi in the front, and i bring the rears to about 42psi... and yeah i launch from about 1800 RPM's

What 60' times are you putting down? With 32psi im cutting a 2.025 60'. The reason I do 32 psi is because of better gripping but @ the same time the higher psi you have the less rolling resistance you have. Too much psi will cause you to have wheel spin very easily.

You really need a 2.5in or 3in downpipe with that 3.4 pulley. Your gona have some kr because of the restricted exhaust. I'd def. get that car scanned! Leave the tranny in drive. Dont manually shift unless you want your tranny laying on the track or street one day. When you get a retuned PCM or esp. a shift kit, the shifts will be quicker and more firm.

OH DOES ANYONE REMEMBER RICE BOY with the CL Type S that Powned GTP's? He has a C Series motor LOL

Good ol' rice boy, LOL! I wonder where he's trolling around nowadays? I figure he's been hanging out on the interactive male boards.....

tell him to trade for a 4G63t... he will be way happier

H22... lots of mods and they still go nowhere, really heavy engine....

A friend of mine had a something B16 in a little hatch it was 5speed and we had a BLAST in that thing! lol. We whooped up on some cars nothing special but it was fun lol

oh ok. yeah true that. i would take a TSI over a honda any day. and i would rather have an STI instead of the Evo. they sound alot better and i just like them more

No way...everytime I drove a boxer powered car I felt like the thing was going to blow up with its funky feeling idle and rough everything else...gimme a RX7 or a R32 GT-R...I'll be happy:th_winking:

So you don't like the STi cuz it felt like it would blow up yet you'd take an RX-7 over it who are even more notorious for blowing up than Fieros?

Id take the STi all aluminum over the Evo iron block anyday and I'm a DSM guy. STi dry weight weigh as much as our GPs dry weight.

Yes the cars idle is a little on the rough side but what do you expect from a stock Turbocharged motor at 18-19psi (double check? I know its high but don't remember exactly how high) with a racing cam and 270+ponies at the crank. If anything I'm impressed by how calm the idle is for what they have done in it.

BTW take the 0-60 times on the STi's with a grain of salt. The Evo beat them on it but the STi shifts at around 60mph.

I've been riding(sometimes) and working with an STi amatuer rally team that my best friend has started for fun, despite how outrageous the cost of a rally team is. To go proffesional it can cost well past the million dollar mark.

Either way id take an STi anyday over many many cars on the road.

Btw I wasn't getting angry or condemning you or anything like that. I'm not trying to make this personal. Im just leaving my general opinion of the car car. I don't want you to misread into my works or anything. :)

Also to add, my brother has three 240sxs. One with a RB25, one with a SR20, and one with the KA24. I know its not anywhere near the RB26 but the RB25 is somewhat overhyped for what you get. Don't get me wrong because it is a fantastic engine but for what you get, I would just go with a LS series motor if you want massive power. I would, however, like to drop the pushrods and have a 2nd cam... yea, that'd be real nice.
