Who is interested in a giant meet in St Louis MO?

Who is interested in having a meet in St Louis at the local racetrack sometime this spring?

I am interested in having a track day at the 1/4 mile and i would be interetsted in seeing who would be able to meet in a central location like St Louis? This would be a 3800 meet and any vehicle powered by such would be more than welcome to come.

This would be an event that we would have to have some sort of fee to enter so that we could rent a track (like $50), but I am sure we could get a good deal om some hotel rooms for those that aren't local (like me).

Anyway, who is interested.

They are planning on one in Branson.... in sept.... lol

From what I hear St louis is no place to be after hours........

Branson, you differently get more for your money at that event. I would vote for that.

Other than that...you want to have a event thats kinda central, and thats PONTIAC related 100% and don't want to go to Ohio for the Pontiac Nationals, then you have to go to the Pontiac Uprising thats usually held in Arkansas City, KS (just north of Oklahoma/Kansas Boarder right off I35) Its a pretty fun event. Car show, drag racing all day long, and nothing but Pontiac's of all types, old and new, classic, and seni-restored. It has it all. Been going for several years...and always have a fun time. Even if I am only racing...or only showing...its pretty fun. Would be nice if there were more FWD Grand Prixs there though...like there used to be...now, just wishful thinking.

A bunch of us on my other forum are thinking about having a midwestern meet since we usually have a meet in texas and most of the members can't make it that far.

I was seeing if anyone would be interested in hanging out and hitting the track with a more diverse group and have more people there.

We are thinking about this spring, so the Branson one sounds fun, its a little farther in the year than I feel like waiting for.

Well, set something up, and see what happens.

$50.00 a head for track time...I'd pass myself on that one. Unless I read that wrong.

Start planing, and talking about it. Best thing is to get the word out. Last race I was thinking about attending was the GM vs. Ford shoot out in Oklahoma. Lots of the Grand National guys, and I think this past year they were letting in the late model 3.8's in to compete too.

St. Louis is not that bad of a town at night if you know what you are doing. Plus gatway is not a cheep place to rent. I would go but $50 is way to high, it is only $20 on a normal day there.

Im thinking about $50 for all the entertainemnt we may do.

The innital plan is scrapped at the moment and the new one is for Kansas City in april sometime. We would go to the track one night on a TNT night and then we would go Gocarting, Dave and busters (for the under 21's) and whatever else the next night.

I will go ahead and plan this and see who wants to come.

Well we do have entertainment in St. Louis. Not quite sure where you heard differently. The downtown bars stay open till roughly 3am and then after that you can head over to the East Side (where the "adult" entertainment is located) there are plenty of things to do here actually.

I am just not sure on what it would cost to have Gateway International Raceway sponsor a race day at their track. I know Kel from our St. Louis club had looked into it, and it was kinda pricey. But its one heck of track no doubt. Branson is definitely a good place, they have done repairs to their track over the years since our First Branson Grand Prix Meets we hold there annually in Sept.

I am sure if you came up with some ideas, I am sure we can get the people KC, and folks from IL to join up sometime in the earlier part of summer. My own personal thing is that it should be scheduled well before Branson's meet, cause a lot peoples schedules are set for that event and it could pose conflicts in schedules if it were held to close Branson. Just my personal thought on that idea.

But its an idea well worth exploring :)

And I would be down for heading to KC in April to have fun down there too! Its never a dull moment there either with my KC peeps :)

welp we have changed our minds and we are going to have our event in Kansas City.

Ill get the details sorted and ill post up in a different thread.
