Stupid rebuild question

Hi All,

i have a bit of a stupid rebuild question. I plan to rebuild the trans from the turbo GTP i bought. My dad has rebuild them before, but if i leave it to him, itll probably be valentines before im driving the car. Im planning to buy the rebuild manual. And i have a week off at christmas. If put down a bunch of tarps, is a trans rebuild something i could possibly get away with in an apartment?
 


Hell no. It's way too messy. And that's coming from someone that's done some crazy things in his apartment.
 
If you completely disassemble it outside and have the case cleaned, then yeah you would be ok. That's a pretty messy job to do in an apartment parking lot though.
 
The car is at my dads house, so id be up for doing that at his place in one of those big plastic tubs.
 
Yeah, assembly wouldn't be a problem. I thought you were talking about disassembling the whole thing and cleaning it while in your apartment.

I imagine that assembly is the time consuming piece. Id do it all at my dads place, but hes 45 minutes away. Being able to spend 15 minutes on it here and there will get me a lot further i think.
