Daytona v/s Regular GTP spoiler

I've run across a daytona spoiler that is already the correct color for my car for a pretty good price, but I've already got the regular GTP wing. Anybody know if the Daytona would use the same mounting holes, or at least cover them up to prevent leaking? At a glance, I'm thinking not.

Holes don't line up for Daytona/40th style spoilers, only the Limited Edition big wings did. The similar-designed SLP Gen II was made to use the normal holes, as were the other aftermarket options (SD, MPD F.1, etc.), since they had to work with our original mounting locations.

Also, swapping to these shorter spoilers without swapping the truck lid exposes new sections of paint that may need TLC.

Good info, thanks. out of all of those, the only options I see anywhere new are SLP knock- offs, and it looks like there are 2 options on those, being the "whale tail" and the low- pro. Assuming the knock- offs are made from the same molds, etc., would either one use the same holes?

Not really "knock-offs"... the SD (very similar to SLP Gen I) and MPD F.1 style (huge one) have been around for almost 20yrs, and are probably leftover inventory from the peak of this market 10+yrs ago. As mentioned, SLP/SD/MPD/etc. use regular GP spoiler mounts, since they had to be able to bolt-on, not coming from the OEM as a different feature.

I have a true SLP Gen I spoiler on my 00 GT and all I had to do was elongate a few of the stock bolt holes and it bolted down with no issues. I didn't have any new paint exposed since it follows the OEM edge.

I would recommend installing a thin nylon spacer between the spoiler and the trunk then sealing the bolt holes top and bottom with silicone that way the spoiler is raised up off the trunk ever so slightly (if done right no one will notice the slight gap) and allows water and debris to pass underneath and not sit under the spoiler causing rust.

If you want to go with the Daytona spoiler then your best bet would be to find an SE model with no spoiler and then have the Daytona spoiler installed.
