• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Coming back to the forum with a GTP this time

Supercharged99

New member
So, I was here years ago with a base 05 Grand Prix. Well, that was sold off when my family got too big to accommodate, but now I'm back with a 99 GTP that I just bought over the weekend and I'm hoping to gain some knowledge from previous posts on the forum. I'm also waiting on Iceman6669 to change my screen name to something more appropriate to what I currently own so we'll see how quickly that happens. If you all know of other staff members I could pester about that feel free to lead me to them :)

Anyway, on to the details of the new purchase. It's overall a very clean GTP. It does have 200,000 miles on it but you wouldn't know that other than by looking at the odometer. It appears to have been well maintained.

My immediate plans are headlights, taillights, plugs and wheel hubs. The wheels hubs are because I've got traction control lights on the dash. The lights are because the existing ones are well worn and foggy. The plugs are just cause and to make sure I've got a fresh set in there. I also want to peal off the existing crappy tint and put new tint on.

Anyway, on to a few pics....

I'd check the wire harness to the hubs before going through the hassle of replacing them. Could be a good chance they are fine and it's a wiring issue. Nice looking car for the mileage. Any rust under it?

The rockers behind the ground effects have some rust in them. That'll be something I'll probably tackle after winter. Other than, though, she's pretty solid.

I'll check out the wiring just to be sure. It would surprise me on this car if it was a wiring as everything is in such nice shape but it certainly never hurts to look before spending the money on hubs which can be pricey for new ones. I've replaced enough hubs in my time that they usually aren't too hard for me to replace so it'd just be a matter of save the money if it did turn out to be a wiring issue. Good idea, FordMan :th_thumbsup-wink:
