• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Planning my mods, need advice

Yeah I saw that. I'm not sure why though. Now you have a rail that can leak.
because after a week of trying to get answers out of ZZP about how they installed, and even getting an answer from the guy who supposedly designed it, i was nowhere near closer to figuring it out. There wasnt a way to install them that i could find that didnt crimp the fuel lines, and ZZP couldnt help.
Only reason i have the fire extinguisher is that these are unproven. So far not a drop has come out.

So two questions now:

I have an exhaust leak from my rear manifold to the DP. One of the nuts is starting to round. I want to replace it, any idea which one i should get without removing it?

2. the 90* elbows were mentioned for the IC hoses. Where/what should i get.

Thanks for the info guys. After some data logging yesterday i realized the car was running lean at idle, but more or less right at cruise. I used some brake clean, and found that once the engine heats up a little, the Pulley side rear injector is sucking in air. I tried reseating it quickly with no luck. I suppose im going to have to lift the rail up and replace the O ring.

I also did some full power pulls yesterday, and found that there is some KR on shift. Isnt there a way to richen up the fuel when shifting? Once i get the Plog and the tune dialed in, im going to kick the WOT timing to 20 and see if she complains. If not, then im getting me a new pulley.

So something strange. I replaced the O rings on the rear injectors and im still getting vacuum leaks. The fronts are fine. Im going to try adjusting there the clip sits on the injector. There are 3 areas. The fronts are fine, but im guessing there is some minor difference with the brackets on the rear rail keeping the injectors from droping into the holes.

did you lube up the o rings before you put them in?

Yep,

I removed the rail again, (partially) and found put i cant use the clips any other way. What i also found out is that the alignment of the rail seems to be off. Im not sure what its supposed to be, but i think the angle isnt right and the injectors arent sealing properly against the head. I think part of this is that one of the brackets is contacting with the IC. I cut it back, but probably not enough for the rail to properly align.

My 1st thought is to take the injectors out of the rail and stick them in the head. See what the natural alignment is. If the rail doesnt match, then adjust till it does.

other than that im out of guesses.

Maybe double check the vacuum line that runs back side of injectors to the map. I had a vacuum leak that I thought was injector but the vac hose had a hole in it. Just a thought. Hard to be 100% when spraying brake cleaner.

You should be able to seat the injectors all the way before tightening the nuts on the hold-down stands. Can you do this, or is the alignment off?

its the bracket that you bolt down. if you dont trim it up it hangs up on the corner of the ic core. hes using a modded stock rail like i did.

So i thought id throw an update out. I havent been on much because ive just been waiting for the new fuel pump. The old one siezed up (new from AEM) I sent it back and 2 weeks later they sent me a new one. I got it installed last week, and the car runs fine. I honestly havent done much more than that since I also bought a 2019 mustang GT last tuesday. (its a hoot) last night i took her for a drive to fill up on ethanol since it was showing just below a quarter of a tank. 3 miles later it ran out of gas on the side of i95 . I managed to pull over far enough that i wasnt in the travel lane (barely).

I will say the pull from the new setup is nice. The next step after fuel, is to re design the fuel rail solution using AN fittings and steel braded line. It should remove the tension that is causing it to not fully seal in the rear.

The car has been stuck at my apt immobile while i waited for the fuel pump unfortunately. There was no way to test it out. Next weekend I am going to my dads house to rebuild the fuel rail. I know the leak from the rear injectors not seating properly. the fronts seat just fine, so im confident its not the injectors.

I was able to get the fuel pump connections fixed and i have been driving it for the last 3 weeks. It has been purring like a kitten .. on e85.
been a busy few weeks my mustang got rear ended and i picked up a $1200 tahoe so the regal is on hold for a bit since she is running and driving.

I seem to recall that there is a way to tune the car for cold starts but not using HPT. Is that correct?
