Code P0128

Hey guys,

My month old GP is throwing a P0128 code. I know it has something to do with the coolant. Just wondering if this has happened with anyone else - and what fixed it. FYI - the temp gauge doesnt rise much when its cold here (10-20) but on nice days we have had it goes up and down (above the quarter mark and then below).

Any help would be appreciated.

So the other day my service engine light came on. I went to Autozone and had them run the diagnostics for me. It was code P0128. The car doesn't look like it low on coolant. Its not overheating. the temp looks like its around 180 up and down from there but not even close to 210, but more on the cool side..

So is my thermostat defective or my coolant temp sensor? Can I change these myself? if so how? What kind of thermostat do you guys recommend?

I have a 2000 GP GT
