Drag racing with missing headlights?

Not sure if this is the right category but--
Why do I see so many pics of Grand Prix's missing headlights on the dragstrip?

Usually the filters are right behind the headlight. So they take them out so they can get cooler air in.

dooood! how do i get to stage 4 weight reduction?!:th_jester:

Find a rock and after launching the car, put the rock on the gas pedal and jump out. The key is to have the extra weight in front for your launch and then lose the weight after you gain traction.

does it really make your car faster with the headlight taken out of the car? cause iwas told that it makes it slower but i dont thin that is right and always wanted to know

hahaha yeah makes them faster unless you are driving in the dark :p Thanks for bringing this up though, I almost bought some cheap headlights from Go-Part.com to offer them a deal haha! Thanks for saving me from lookin like a jerk :D

ok so what your saying is when im about ready to launch i should roll down my window, climb on my hood, throw the rock at the gas pedal when the light turns green and jump off once i get some traction?

That's genius Yo! :th_thumbsup-wink:

Somewhat being the key word.

If you have forced induction it might help, but N/A I dont think it does ****, to any car.

I gained a consistent .1 with it removed when I was NA, so i always do it now...... Then again it doesn't take much to go from a 16.5 to a 16.4 :th_jester:
