PCM Wiring Harness & Fuse Box Wiring Size

Hello everyone, new to the forums, but have been interested in these cars for a long time. I'm pretty excited because I'm getting a 98 grand prix gtp from one of my old friends that we use to cruise around in my first couple of college years after high school. I'm getting it for a good price because some rats got into the wiring.

My question is what size is the wiring going into the PCM and the fuse box? It looks to be the same size for both, just some of the ends near the PCM and fuse box are chewed off. Also, where can I get this type of wiring?

Would it be better just to get new harnesses? They appear to be hard to find and costly so I'm guessing no. Thank you in advance.
 


Junk yard/salvage yard would be your best bet to find the wiring you need, should not be to hard to find a complete harness to use or splice in place, try MORAD on e-bay. Be cautious of other wires chewed threw throught the car, not only that, likely the rats feces spread throught the car will smell and carry diseases.

My local junkyard happens to have a 1998 Grand Prix GT. Would the wiring harness off that work or is it different for the GTP?
 
Get a HAYNES manual as they have a good wiring diagrams in the back pages, or search on the internet. Best bet is to make a list of what you need and get it of the JY car is possible. Repair the wires ONE AT A TIME so you dont get lost.
