04-08 Paint Codes



i know its old post but i have same problem finding right paint , my code is U 944 L its a 06 did you find the right name for it ?

Pretty sure that's the same code for my 06, believe the name is "Light Silver Metallic" I couldn't find it on the shelf at any auto/hardware stores. I had a can mixed and put in a spray can at NAPA with the U 944 L code, was around $28.00 for that back a couple years ago if I remember correctly.
 
i was doing some research on this paint and the name is "Liquid Silver Metallic U944L" but everywhere i look they say is "U 994L [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Light Tarnished Silver Metallic " but believe me its not the same color , so i think NAPA it is if they can mix it for me .[/FONT]
 
I don't know. I didn't know what to call my GXP after I got it. Dark Grey? Dark Blue?

The paint code is the unusual 503Q, and the Paint Color is listed most places as "Ink Slate Metallic".

There are different "marketing" names for paints based on what car it's used on. Same paint on 08-09 Chevy Cobalts, code 503Q was referenced as "Slate Metallic (Grey)"

I was amused to find the same color is listed in the original Pontiac lit as... "Purple Haze Metallic". I'm still not sure how I feel about buying a Purple Car unbeknownst to myself. :th_wtf: I just tell people it's Dark Grey though. LOL
 


NAPA should be able to get the paint code off the VIN.
At least that's what they told me they needed but I gave them the code I had, 317N. Perfect match.
 
There's one color that is nearly impossible to get a good match with, even for a professional body shop...

WA519F. Galaxy Silver Mettalic. My rear bumper is just slightly off after a few months. And they have the same mixing machine that NAPA has. Lol

Yes the U 994L is "light tarnished silver metallic"... still have an unused can of it laying around. You in southern Ont?

I the photo you can see the difference U 944L is lighter i will go to NAPA tomorrow and maybe they can help because today i was talking whit dealership and the guy there was like maybe they put wrong sticker etc. but i showed him my spoiler where i did test and he was hmmm that's weird ..
