I can't express how much I love this car...
My company went out to the field for 10 days, did lots of dumb stuff, fired lots of blanks, camped in the woods, etc... We get back and everybody just wants to go home. I'm one of the last out of the building, and half of my platoon is sitting in their respective driver's seats, doors open, just cranking away with facial expressions ranging from mild annoyance to almost in tears. They're all having problems with getting their cars and trucks to start.
I walk to my turd, sit down, just bump the key and she fires right up.
I don't know why she does it, but I'm never gonna complain (too much) about this car and the issues she gives me.
Anyways, it ended up being a total of:
2 dead batteries (I jumped both of them)
1 busted fuel line (pop can, RTV and zip-ties save the day again!) In case of curiosity, it was a 82 C20 with more rust than the Titanic.
1 blown fuel pump fuse (of course I have extra fuses)
1 blown ignition control thingy fuse (...I can't remember the exact name, but we all know what it does.)
And last but not least, my buddies car had a total of: 2 broken spark plugs, one shredded plug wire, one mangled, tangled ball of belt spaghetti (it literally looked like spaghetti), and two halves of a belt tensioner. That was an interesting trip to O'Reilly's...
But I managed to get every car and truck out of that parking lot under it's own power... After I jumped the first two, I figured I might as well help everyone.
