Hey guys i retinted my tail lights today and it came out a little darker then I thought it would. So obviously I could redo it, but I figured this would be a great opportunity to upgrade to some bright leds and then I can just leave it how it is. So what's the brightest led bulbs we can get for our tails. So far I tried the 15$ ones at walmart having good success with theyre license plate ones but I just installed them and they are ever so slightly brighter but deffinately not what I'm looking for. I want bright! Is the zevo brand any good? Thanks guys

I haven't dicked around with leds in the tail lights.

After I tinted my tail lights I put 3457 normal bulbs in. They are 20-25% brighter.

Diode dynamics offers their brightest bulbs in the XP80. They are costly so the best times to buy is during their 20% off sale.

I don't have my pics at the moment but they are bright and visible during the day. Of course the tint will diminish the brightness.

Thanks for all your input guys I got a new phone and for some reason it didn't tell me you guys replied so last night I bought the zevo brand and they were just a hair brighter then the cheaper pilot ones but still not bright enough for me with the tint. Ill deffinately check out what you guys mentioned. Thank you

I got a set off of Amazon for $15. Put them my reverse lights and they're brighter than hell. Should work for brake lights according to the write up.
Search for this iBrightstar Newest 9-30V Super Bright...

Thanks for the info man I saw those but wasn't sure how they would work. I have personally had really good experiences with cheap leds so I don't really see the reason to spend 80-100$ on a pair of bulbs

Honestly the eBay spyder led tails are the only way leds should be done on the brakes lights. I had tinted tails and never liked any of the led bulbs, although the spider bulbs, I think that's what they are called, the ones that have 5 arms that spread where the best bulbs for the tails.

Anytime man. Had those bulbs in for about a month and a half now, no problems so far. My tails aren't tinted so they might not be so bright for you. Miles better than a regular bulb though.

I would have bought led tails if I knew they were reliable and if I could decide which version to go with. I see so many cars that have "super cool" aftermarket led tails but then one or multiple leds are burned out and then in my opinion even with 1 led out it looks like ricer trash so if I knew they would last at least 2 years id spend the money. I'd also be curious to know if you could disassemble the led tails and replace individual leds if they do burn out. Then I really love how the red tinted ones look but with my car being black with white accents I think the black housing clear lens ones would look better but I just can't decide

Ya I mean the tint came out black as black but the vht nightshades does a fairly good job of still letting light shine through. Enough light is there especially with the non tinted 3rd brake light I'm not really concerned with them being a safety hazard but at the same time you can never be too safe.

I also thought about just getting a pair of 3157 bulb pigtails and rewiring it for 2 bulbs in each tail. That would really brighten things up

I have smoked Spyder LED tails on my Grand Prix never had an issue and they look really good. I've had them for about 5 years one of the first upgrades I did and I had your concerns about them burning out but they have been great and still bright as ever. I wouldn't mess around with the LED bulbs anymore in my opinion you can't get the separate LED look and the brightness your going to want.
