Filling the pocket on a gen 5 SC

...obviously I know the pocket on the gen 3 no one covers it because its access to the needle bearings wen they go bad and ya gotta get to that area .....but on the gen 5 u gotta use a tool

But my point is wen u are non intercooled ..and you have not cut opened ur intake manifold..... That pocket area is not in the equation at all .....no air can get in there period ......Because the intake manifold has it covered

So my question is Wen u go intercooled ....and cut open your lower intake to match .....(even if u haven't removed the h bar on your sc) ....my question is haven't you just added this pocket area into the equation ? Can boosted air travel up in there ....doesn't this cause more area for air in the intake manifold's job ?.....would it be a smart to just quicksteel this area up .....creating less area for incoming air to travel too ....creating less time for air to be in the manifold .... effectively pushing air into the cylinders faster ....maybe helping the oven m90 be just a bit more efficient ?.....

I look at other superchargers they do not have this pocket area ...I'm sure because of other better design reasons than what I'm talking about .....

Or am I just a noob over thinking lol
 


It won't make any difference. The air is not flowing through that area, just dead-ending there. For the most part under boost, the air that's in there stays there....it's not being exchanged with fresh air.
 
Two things: quit typing short hand. Form a damn sentence.

So annoying.

Secondly; no. It makes no improvement and is a waste of time if you're not intercooled. The only reason people open it up is for the H-Bar.

The M90 is also a fat turd. Highly inefficient anyways. Turbo the thing.

1. you own a grand prix and aren't an English teacher......(he did it again)lol
2. this site kills me. we got Honda civics running around with 2 less cylinders making more power than our cars. Even with a turbo and your gp is turbo they making more!! All yall say on here is this wont work more than those kids do. The first response out theyre mouths is "try it dude". And now you see in about the same length of time that these cars have been made,what there culture is compared to ours!!! This mindset yall have of not trying things or its a waste of money, is the reason a ford focus is on need for speed and grand prixs aren't man ....like forreal man. like yall have passion but most of yall don't have that deep burning type passion that makes a GP elevate into greatness. WHERE ARE ALL THE CAR CRAZED GP LOVERS??? . the pple that make Eaton see dollar signs and decide to make new supercharger parts! Or the pple that inspire any other performance company other zzp, to invest in this following. And do this Because we are serious bout dis!! Even zzp starting to find new things to do why because GP owners don't push the bar. They understand gp pple are just going to cheap out or....buy a turbo and be content. Its sad bruh. you look under their blowers... there is no pocket. So why is it hard to see that there might be a gain here filling ours. Small or big!

Ok, a couple quick things. 1 if you want a better blower get a tvs or whipple, make a custom lower intake for it, go nuts. 2 hondas are light, rev to the ****ing moon, and have a much higher mass flow per cylinder. Couple that with the fact that they are cheap and jdm company's have been making parts for them for decades and it starts making since why some are so fast. 3 your English is God awful. 4 the m90 and the 1900 and 2300 tvs on LSA's, LS9's, and LT4's are radically different.
 
When a built transmission costs more than the car is worth, nothing is worth doing anymore on these cars lol.

Besides the grand prix's crowd hit it's peak around 2008-2011, now it's just another everyday car that anyone can buy and increasing hard to find a decent example that isn't crashed or rusted completely away.

Yea you make great points there. I still feel like we can catch them somehow, just gotta find the right formula. Forgive my English. I'm from the hood out here in Maryland. 15 mins from southeast d.c . We all type how we talk.

And like you just said. Those superchargers are different and are far "better" than a M90 .Thats the point i was getting at by mentioning them. If these superchargers are built "better" and have updated configurations, obviously you can try to implement some of their new features on something old. Like not have a pocket in the configuration of an intercooled sc build. quicksteel it. weld a plate over it.Make A little less journey for air to take on its way to the cylinders.

a civic isn't as well tho bro? You can buy one for like 500 bucks on craiglists right now and double that amount with three bolt ons . Then I have to watch them and not us on 1320video all the time. sucks!!! I'm just saying money aint stopping them and we all got bills . Trust me, I was hurting when I had to buy that TEP trans 4k. The Only reason I bought it was because I had hope that one day my fat butt 4 door will go faster

This platform is dead. It's been dead for 5 years. You aren't brining it back. These cars are too cheap and any broke teenager can afford them. But they have no money for mods.

Filling that pocket in will only slow you down with the extra weight. It has no effect on engine performance.

Sweet baby infant Jesus heal this fella hear ! I'm gonna ask you if u feel that's true why do you still have a grand Prix forums account 5 years after the death of this hear platform? Everyone on here knows we arent building a mustang but they love these things in some way some how ! I have to block that excuse because teenagers have more popular platforms and still be broke and trying. Forreal y'all just making my point wen I say GP low on spirit. A piece of aluminum plate is not going add more than my cellphone in my pocket while I'm sitting in my car smh . I'll just do it and let pple who care know the result .
 
I still have an account because I still mess with these cars. But what I do has nothing to do with the rest of the world.

You are wasting your time and money trying to block that pocket. If you want to work on something worthwhile, figure out an outside stator support or heavier 3rd sprag for the trans. That's why this platform has died.
 


word on the street is you just put nitrous and a cam ran ur lil 11 on slicks on a stock trans ....so that tells me u don't give f*** s**** about trying to solve stuff. Yet I'm on here reading what I need to spend my time on doing from u a person who says the platform is dead but still messes with them?...I'm sounding like an ass but forreal u just got me confused. Pick a side . ....you just proving my point about what I stated above . every lil bit counts. Even if one mod out weights the other

MackSauce - If you want to try something on your Grand Prix, go for it! You don't need approval from anyone on this site. With that said, there are a lot of very knowledgeable people on here every day, including some of the people you are currently bashing. They are simply trying to save you time and headache, that is all. They aren't picking a fight with you, they are just giving you their experience, take it or leave it. If you want to put a block plate or whatever it is you're wanting to do, then do it. Who gives a sh!t if this platform is dead, or if it's not. Who gives a sh!t what other people think, just worry about yourself and quit b!tching at people for not agreeing with you.

Please keep this in mind, if you f&ck something up and need help, or when something fails, these people will more than likely be the ones helping you. I haven't found a better group than this one....Food for thought.
