So I have a 2000 camaro with a L36 3.8, i was driving today and wound out first gear, car made a wierd noise when i let off. Later, i was driving and the car rapidly misfired around 3500 when at or near WOT. Almost sounded like I was on the teo step just without the backfireing, anyone know whats going on? No SES atm. Any help would be great.

The noise sound like a saw blade kind of? For a breif second anyway

Not really... im going to disconect the battery today and drive it again, see if it does anything. Ill also try to get a video and post it on youtube, see if anyone knows whats up

Where I was going with that is motor mounts maybe allowing stuff to move around. Might be grinding. My flywheel would rub when I went WOT and let off. Then I threw in some polys and all was good

Oh yeah i get what your saying, but nah it wasnt like that tho, i think disconnecting thr battery may have reset it and fixed the issue, car was fine today

Unplug the MAF; see if anything changes. If it does, you have a MAF on the way out. If you haven't it probably wouldn't hurt to change plugs and wires, anyways.

Yeah I was playing with the MAF today, apperently my MAF was reading abt 4.5g/s.... (i just learned what this means today, the grams per second should be approx equal to the liters of the motor) so I unplugged the MAF and that didnt do ****, as it got hotter the point were the motor would studder got lower in the rev range (so it happened closer to 2-2.5k), it was a hot day. Turns out my mechanic had the same problem in his monte... said it could be ignition control module, this doesnt sound fun... really hope its just plugs.

Yeah. What Scotty said. If it's the ICM it's a pretty quick and not so expensive repair. 100 for new, 1hr max labor. MAXXX
