Resevoir for intercooler?

Get the Aztec bumper and turn it into the intercooler Reservoir ice box with a large neck welded onto it and the ends capped....lol
Whatttt!! I don't know why I never thought of that!! Although now I'm having second thoughts about even buying the tank. Its really sweet looking but id be spending 165$ just to add. .58 gallons of coolant to the system and realistically I'd probably put ice in it a couple times so pretty pointless when I can spend 20$ and get a little coolant tank like Scotty.

to make a ice tank work you really need a tank thats a at least 3 gallons id think. whats the point if you cant pack it with ice.

then like you said, how often you gonna really pack it with ice and drive around town. with out ice all you did was increase the fluid capacity, not a bad thing really, but it also adds weight.

So I guess the real question is it worth spending 165$ just to add half gallon of coolant. I could take that 165$ and go buy a phenolic spacer and have a wanna be Sseilmnop core instead

not to me its not. id get it done as cheap as possible, but thats me.
What are your thoughts on getting a phenolic spacer. I thought it would be a good cheap mod to help prevent heat soaking the core but I emailed zzp and they said with running a fullstack there wouldn't be much gains to adding one.

the hood wont shut. and your blower will still get hot no matter who's ic core you use. the blower makes its own heat.

meth has actually cooled my blower off, the ic really did nothing for 80 plus degree days.

I liked the idea of the Aztec bumper with it being aluminum but also with being able to mold foam around it to prevent condensation and to end up with all the extra weight as far forward in the car as possible to help front end traction.... it's just too bad that it isn't lower and below the axle Centerline where the weight does the most good while not exacerbating the weight shift to the rear that our cars do when launching.

If the plan is to actually run ice for something like 1/4, 1/2 mile or roll racing, IMO that 1/2 gallon tank is too small. The ice won't last long at WOT as there won't be much of it and you won't have much thermal mass in the coolant. The easiest way to be able to run a lot of ice is with a trunk mount tank.

Like you said, if you're just adding coolant capacity (which certainly has its own benefits) then a cheapo coolant tank is fine.

I don't really track the car currently. Once I got a built trans I would like to take it out there but I think for now ill just do a cheap plastic res. Although I was able to finally sell off some of my old parts and now am trying to decide if a phenolic core is really worth the 500$ over my zzp core. Hmm

Well got the car fixed and am in the process of installing the intercooler. I just wanted opinions if i should use just straight rtv with the zzp core or if i should get that make your own gasket stuff and make a gasket and use a little rtv?

this has been stated so many times, just use grey permatex rtv. don't waste your time with a gasket. you want to get the right amount of rtv because too much will plug the pcv holes, and not enough won't seal.

Ok i heard to use red rtv so thats what i bought. Should i go ahead and just save that a buy grey?

Does anyone have a picture of where to put rtv on the bottom of a gen 3 supercharger? Ive searched and can only find a gen v and lim
