Universal Tubo Kit EBAY---bluh

98GT3800

Im not quite interested in these kits due to, well, look at the price. LOL are these worth buying. A buddy of mine is looking into it. I would rather him spend the 4k for a full air-to-air cooler turbo kit. But he thinks the cheap way will work.
Judging by the price im not sure if any of it will hold together, ( the accesories anyways) He wants it for his 97 GP GT.
I tried finding him a turbo crossover pipe and whatever else but i cant find anything. DOes anyone sell any turbo parts individually. Can someone forward me to them,.

eBay Motors: J-SPEC T3/T4 TURBO KIT PONTIAC FIREBIRD GTO GRAND PRIX (item 260350241576 end time Feb-20-09 01:08:45 PST)

Someone tell me, id like to get a few people to say not to if that will helpo him but i thikn hes going to it anyways, and that way i can sleep at night HAHAHA
thanks
or if anyone says they're good ill have a few opinions

Have him go to a local exhaust shop and have them quote how much it'll be to custom build a turbo manifold as well as the rest of the upper exhaust. That should be enough to sufficiently scare it out of him. if not, just let him know that if the company can't type proper english (i.e. 1. NEED TO CUTTING AND MODIFICATION THE PIPING) it's probably not a smart idea to bolt it on your car. :th_winking:

The turbo is tiny enough... Probably couldn't be capable of hurting the engine.

It would work, but you'd constantly be fixing things in the turbo kit itself and have to figure out a a lot of things on your own. Like a blockoff plate on the rear manifold or put the wastegate there on a open dump. Then a custom downpipe from the turbo and weld a flange on the crossover for the turbo. Then you would need a custom pcm... Then the fittings for the turbo oil lines... Then figure out the IC piping because thats just a bunch of pieces... Then weld in the BOV flange on the IC piping... Then pray to god there isn't more stuff you need to do and wait for something to break in a month... Then realize that the kit will probably cost over a $1000 when its put together the first time and you could get a IC or pay someone to throw a cam in your car for that price that might net you more power than this kit will hold.

WOW. If i print this out im sure it will work lol. I could barely read the dang thing myself. I would honestly like to see this done but i just dont think any on the parts are as high queality as they look. SHINEY isnt always best.
I posted the one he sent me but if you type this in the search "grand prix turbo kit" the seller has 6 of the same items and all from 600 to 800 bucks. I read all of them and couldnt find a difference. one in red and the others in blue...

Plus the kit pictured looks like it is a passenger side intake inlet. We have a grivers side inlet. So you would also need a different intake manifold. And i can promise that piping kit will not fit right.

Im adding stuff up myself and im seeing zz being about the same price but better queality. they wany 500 for crossover and 400 for down pipe. the turbo kit alone from them is 3k. I myself would stick with the zzp.
BUt im going for a top swap, i wont need turbo yet/
Anybody find any of this stuff in the for sale section let me know.
