New exhaust on my '05 GXP, still loud

Hey all,

I just put a new SLP exhaust on my '05, because the old one was trashed. Only thing is, it is still pretty loud and annoying. The SLP did not come with a resonator, so I'm wondering if it's because this is missing, or maybe the cat converter is shot, that's why it's still loud. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

slp is kinda loud, but it needs the res. get a glass pack and have a shop install it just past the cat on the other side of the flange.

I'd buy a vibrant ultra quiet resonator and have it installed, they work far better than a glasspack at removing drone/rasp from the exhaust while keeping all the sound you want there when you want it.

Thanks for the info guys! I've been checking on Vibrant's resonators, but I can only find ones without a flange. SLP's system has a short flanged pipe that is about 16" long, and I would imagine this is what would be replaced by the resonator, correct?

My 2.5 SLP catback is still loud after adding a Magnaflow res. Quieter and less drone but still on the fart side of things

Did you have to modify anything at all? Like length of any pipes?
I have a compg not gxp. I was just commenting on tones of SLP

your catback should be the same though. My muffler guy just cut and welded in Magnaflow.
Who would do the work on yours?

It's loud because of the lack of deadening in the SLP's and the lack of the resonator as well.

Put a 3" catted downpipe in it and toss in a resonator. It'll help it all out. Been there, done that.
