• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What do you think of this trans pan?

Not worth it, imo. There's a regular (dorman?) one with a plug. O'rielly even carries it, I think.

If you really want to step up the pan, a few members discussed this one. No one has feedback on it ..yet. http://www.grandprixforums.net/threads/103087-new-transmission-pan-from-cartuning

I like the cartuning one, just note a couple things. There's added capacity, but that takes up space. This pan will sit lower, not so good for lowered cars.

The added fluid advantage would best be used with a cooler, adding a further step and expense.

I was going to do all that when I did the Trans-go. Moved, so that took care of that. Maybe when it needs rebuilding.

Dont think I'll have problems with it taking a bit more space since my cars not lowered. So would I need to add an extra 3 quarts if I were to get this pan, or would I be fine running the same amount of trans fluid I usually refill (About 9 quarts)?

I bought one used, but haven't installed it yet. I got it for a steal, and the drain plug was the only reason I wanted it.

If you get one, you will need to drill and tap the drain plug as they are know to strip very easily.

I haven't hit my Cartuning pan on any speed bumps. My car is lowered but not much. About an inch with GMPP Koni kit minus 1/2 inch for drivetrain spacers:

My Scan Gauge died before I installed the Cartuning pan. So, I cannot confirm their cooling effect.

I did get my Scan Gauge repaired and hopefully, the car should be back on the road next month. Will let you know.

Cooling is not really the reason for a deeper trans pan. They are used to keep the pump from sucking air.

And, the zzp pan sucks. You have to fix the plug threads.

Plus, it's a good idea to drop the pan anyways to clean the magnet.

I bought and installed the dorman pan from Adv Auto with no issues, it's got the drain bolt. Got it for $30 w/ a coup. For the price you pay, it's a huge benefit to be able to do a quick drain n fill.
