What's a good price to pay for a 160k 4t65e?

I'm looking to find a core transmission so I can slowly start working on a rebuild. I found a guy locally that already had it pulled and it has 160k miles. Originally he wanted 350 and i got him down to 220. So is this a good price for a high mileage core, or should I look for one with less miles? Thanks guys

If you're rebuilding, mileage shouldn't matter. I would think. Because you know, rebuilding... Right?

Was the trans working when he pulled it? It it wasn't maybe $100-$150. But $220 ain't the worst.

Well I don't have much faith in the human race but he said "The car ran great, and so did the transmission." It also came out of an se so at least it wasn't having to deal with a lot of power.

Well, if it I came from a car that ran, sounds pretty good to me. And you're right, no one is really beating on their SE.

I got a core trans from a local yard for $150 and they pulled it out too. that's the low end price.
also bought 2 others that were guaranteed and they were $350 each.
if it's not guaranteed good, $350 is a lot.
