• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Getting avt852 box working with dhp

It seems DHP must have done something with these units once they received them from AVT to give the ability to register in the application.

it seems what ever the avt guy added made it work right. hes been asked to stop doing that. hes been selling them for years now and they just worked, now they dont it seems.

It will try to read ( unless im on the wrong cpmport, then it does nothing) 75 percent of the loading bars way says unable to comunnicate. Then if i abort i can still run demo mode, load and look at bins. Just no editing.

Did you mess with the baud rate settings in DHP to make sure that's not the problem? If the baud rate is wrong in DHP, it won't communicate. The baud rate that works in the hex editor will be the one that works with the AVT adapter (I'm basing this on how every other serial device I've ever worked with has behaved).

Yes i equalled out my baud rates running in both of dhps available settings in multiple com ports all matched up. Im trying something different. Will keep updated.

Ok AVT boxes had to be setup to match DHP software. Kind of like a password checksum or some such crap. Thus making AVT sold boxes in operative with DHP software unless configured as such. Guy who ran DHP has said not to do it anymore. I he doesn't have permission to make new boxes just repair old ones. I'm sure if tech savvy person out there had two side by side it would be easy but possibly not exactly legal. And considering the software is barely supported/accessible, who should care, as the serviceability of working on these cars is waning as numbers dwindle. I picked up used serial box and am hoping for some luck. But repair is only $40+shipping. So I am hopeful mine is good to go. Someone somewhere was familiar with drones or rc stuff and figured out how to add usb to a serial box. But good luck to all who venture forth.
