Rear brake pad wearing down on an angle - 2006 Grand Prix GXP

Title says most of it, any ideas? Here is more info.

1) Brake pads replaced 2x. Rotors replaced once.
2) After about a month the rear, passenger side brakes start squeaking.
3) upon inspection, one of the pads is wearing down sideways (along the length of the pad).
4) It is the pad touching the piston.
 


Probably wrong kind of grease on the caliper pins.
The one with the rubber sleeve is no doubt swelled and stuck.
I just tossed one last week when doing my strut mounts in the rear

Silicone with ptfe doesn't break down rubber

Only 1 pad is wearing our on an angle, and that is the inside one. The one touching the piston.

If one of the caliper pins was stuck, wouldn't either the left/right side be wearing down fast rather than top/bottom? And if that is it, you are saying a new boot would solve it?

In general what should my next steps be? Replace the boots, grease up the pins and try again?

take the caliper off, then the two bolts with the boot that holds the caliper on, clean them both and the holes they live in with brake cleaner then grease them both and work them in and out of the caliper till they slide like butter, add more grease if need be. then bolt it back together.
 


Does the parking brake seize on that year? That'll cook a caliper too. I'd have to agree that something about the seal around the piston makes it look suspect.

That piston does look jacked, Sauk might be onto something

Oreillys has a rebuild kit for 6.99.
My bro bought some powerstop rears and one side leaked. I had to get an Oreillys rebuild kit for it. Was really simple.
