unlike you quitters.....some of us are working to make the W more viable
imagine if the 7/8ths chainset could handle power across its full face/link contact surfaces....talk about reliability increase....
What is wrong with the LS6 or LS2? The GTO guys sure seem to love the LS2.How many miles? What did you do to it?! I am pusing ~550 whp and running into the mid to low 11s and its happy as a clam.
and why would I want a Gen 1 CTS-V lol, I'd rather have my supercharged G8 any day

The GTO suffers from the same problem that the G8 does, you get in a tiny fender bender and the car is totaled because there are no parts for them. I was asking what was wrong with the LS6 and LS2, the engines used in the first gen CTS-Vs.There's nothing wrong with the GTOs. The trunk space sucks. And the fools that put hi volume oil pumps on them end up messing the engines up due to oil starvation with their 5 quart pans. G8s have 9 quart pans and hi volume pumps due to the DoD crap. Needless to say, the oil changes are kinda pricey if you run synthetic. And the computers are kinda flakey...

But see, the way I went I don't have to spend north of 7 grand to get it to last for 3 runs or wait for someone to design a chain. I can push 700 through the stock 6L80 (as long as it is tuned properly) and then when it blows up its about 2 grand worth of work and partsbut sounds like daves new input shaft is pretty strong, just need a chain that doesn't break and someone with deep pockets to manufacture it, but then your back to square one of the platform is dead so either the you do a low quantity run and they cost a couple Gs per set or you go mass production and pray people buy it.
Comparing a 10-12 year old car to a 30+ year old car is not the same thing. Try finding a flywheel for a 1983 S-10 4x4 with the 2.8 v6 and 4 speed manual trans. Back in 2003 I had to order it from some random junkyard in Colorado, ended up costing me almost $200.try finding parts for an 83/84 only Toyota cressida wagon
being an individual and not part of the herd does have its own costs....
thankfully im lucky that kevin has deep pockets and no cents
cant wait till we can put antique vehicle plates on it....
All Pontiac Lives Matter...
Except Grand Ams, f*ck those guys.
but after going through 3 transmissions with the last one being a "racing" trans I was done.
I do believe the proper question is what didn't break lol.May I ask what broke on the last transmission?

Only dealers are charging high prices for GXP's. :th_BSflag-big:

Blue book in excellent condition is $6,982.

And this was only after searching for maybe 5 mins.
Like I stated in the post, I had only looked for all of 5 min, I am sure if I would have searched for more than 5 min and searched more than just Autotrader I could have found a lot more. Two ads.
Quality back up there.
