Torque App Help

Trying to use the Torque App in car but the App is saying it can't read from ECM. Any ideas why this would happen?

i have two that i got off ebay. I dont have another car to try it on at this time.

I get the same problem with mine with Torque Lite. I got a little blue one for like $5 off ebay, haven't found an app yet that connects to it. My dad got one too and it wont connect to his Infinity QX4 either. So yeah, cheap ones don't work apparently.

^ the BAFX is the one that people seem to have the best luck with. I know that's what worked for me.

Ive had mine for 4 years and never had a single issue. The OBDLink MX is WAY FASTER than the BAFX tho. But If I need super high speed scanning, I use HPT. LOL! But yeah, the BAFX stays in the GTP and the OBDLink MX stays in the G8.

Also, DashCommand works well woth the BAFX unit. Torque works very well but if you need to see some PIDs that Torque doesnt support, DashCommand will more than likely support them. If not, you can buy the plugins for that particular year of car. I bought the 1998 GM plugin and the 2009 GM plugin (GTP and G8).

Well that's the thing I don't know how anyone claims one is faster than another. Even HPT and DHP are limited to how quickly the data comes out of the PCM which is every .173 second (173ms) so in reality they are all only able to scan at a rate of 4-5 per second.

HPT is definitely faster than ELM327 and Torque any day of the week. Especially when youre scanning multiple PIDs. And HPT 3.2 is faster than 2.24...

I have tried the cheap adapters on ebay and Amazon. Had problems with no connecting, dropping signal, Bluetooth not connecting, etc. They suck. I run the OBD LX and it rocks. Cheaper then the MX. Runs $50.

Post up a scan and lets see. How many lines do you get per second? The limiting factor doesn't seem to be the program or the computer at all, it's the PCM that is the limiting factor. Since it will only output data every 173 ms. Even 04+ cars are this slow.

Maf kPa? My torque reads in G's/Second and CFM. There's a formula that you can input in the custom PID that allows you to use Maf Hz. I found that it's easier for me to correlate where I had an issue. I used the stock table but it was too rich. I probably could have changed the IFR but I like to keep it the same for changed just for E85 or injector size.
