Bad motor mount ?

During the past few weeks I'm feeling the engine vibrations in the steering wheel & brake pedal. Pretty sure the motor mount has been wet from an oil leak too. So, when the motor mount goes bad does the motor come down onto the metal part & cause this ? Car has 150 K on it.

Thanks

I'd say it's more than likely a culprit.
Have someone (you trust) sit in the drivers seat, goose the throttle while in drive and reverse (heavy on the brakes of course) . Watch the engine and trans move.

If the motor mount has never been changed it is probably bad. The oem mount is made of rubber, has some metal frame in it, but the rubber is hollow and is fluid filled. Over time the rubber deteriorates and the fluid leaks out. A lot of different things can cause vibration, but a bad engine mount is possible. I Have a mount for sale, pm me if you are interested

All you need are solid rubber replacement mounts; motor and transmission.

Trans is on drivers side; motor on passenger.

Flip the uppers, too.

it's not too hard, I did an engine mount myself. all I did was drill holes in the mount, drained the fluid, then used a caulk gun to inject polyurethane. it's kind of a pain because it makes a mess, but not hard. after I got the mount done, I saw I had a zzp poly engine mount, so now I'm trying to sell the mount.

So are the replacement mounts from parts stores also with the fluid? & where do you get the solid 1's & are they rough feeling.

I would be curious if the zzp solid mounts are actually solid like they claim.

The mount in the link looks exactly like the fluid filled one I modified

Easier said than done ;)

Pffft, not really.

Sh1ts easy.

What's hard about mounts? lol

You can very easily order the solid rubber option mount off of RockAuto. As for the trans mount, ZZP sells a solid stock Regal trans mount. That's all that is, anyways.
