160,000 klm original ac delco iridium spark plugs

While my mechanic was replacing the original spark plugs, 2 broke in the front and one broke in the back. They spark plug came out but the thread part stayed in the engine. Took him 3 hours to do the job.
 


Your title says 160k KM but your post says 140k KM. Which is it?

Looks like between 86,991 and 99,419 miles. That's about spot on for replacement. The owners manual says to replace them every 100,000 miles.
 
They still could be but you live in canada, which is your biggest issue. Corrosion and rust will make them stick or cause them to break apart. And the fact that you had waited over 10 years to finally remove them didn't help.

I myself would only run them for 75,000 miles and change them and I also wash my engine bay often enough to keep the motor clean.
 


The "average driver" puts 12,000-15,000 miles on their car per year. That puts the recommended changing of spark plugs around 6.5 years maximum.

In that time, the plugs should still be removed and read, which it sounds like wasn't done with your car.

Some cars just aren't taken care of.

Replaced stockers at 100k, 150k, 180, 200k, 250k and never once, broke one. [/FONT]
