1998 GTP Pace Car #162 of 1500

So, as things normally go I had no intentions or plans of buying a GTP or another car anytime soon.

But...

I stumbled across something on craigslist I couldn't quite pass up; which would be this:

A 1998 Grand Prix GTP Pace Car; 177,000 miles, 2 owner, never wrecked, and garage kept until early 2015. It wasn't much to look at (door trim missing, dent in drivers door, and various other imperfections) but it did run and drive flawlessly' so I bought it for $1800; still not quite sure if that was a good deal or not. What made me jump on it was it is 1 of 200 pace cars with the factory sunroof, had an SD? hood, and roof rails.

Loaded onto trailer

At home with the other GP

After the first wash its probably had in months

As it sits now

Currently I'm in the process of redoing the cooling system as it was full of stopleak, dexcool sludge, and water. It's already had the intake gaskets redone and seems to have been kept up well enough. It has a 3800 performance PCM, Thrasher Intake, and Thrasher shift kit. Only thing I plan to do is put on a set of SD headers I have laying around and drop to a 3.4. The car will basically just sit in my Garage except for nice weekends and the local car shows.

I'd get rid of the GTX badges unless its a real GTX, get rid of the Grand Prix on the hood and purchase a new set of headlights and corners too. Looks good though. Whats does the rear look like, good set of tails? If not grab another set too.

Yeah I got rid of the GTX badges I have no idea why they were on there same with the grand prix on the hood. Tails were shot but I got smoked leds on it now

Yeah still haven't figured out why it had GTX badges for some reason the PO took off all the rare daytona badges and stuck those on there
