Replacing AC Condenser

Hey Everyone,

How much of a PITA is it to replace the AC condenser on a 2001 GTP? What all is involved?
Mine has severe leak. Leaks out an AC charge in about 48hrs. Dye confirms it.

are you sure it is the ac condenser? I had an ac leak, and it was just the nipple near the condenser that needed replacement.
 
Dammit, he did say condenser, I read compressor.

Remove the fans, remove the rad hoses and transmission cooler lines, raditor then can come out and you have full access to the condenser.
 


its possible to pull the condenser without pulling the radiator. it's a tight squeeze but it can be done especially if you can't get the trans lines off the radiator.

also replace the accumulator / dryer when you replace the condenser. and don't forget to lube O rings with some PAG oil and keep it all clean.

Is that on the drive side of the condenser? Upper or lower part of it?
The dye can been seen with a UV light right through the lower air dam on the front bumper on the driver side. Looks like it's right around where a mounting point is.

Sounds like a mess of coolant... fun.
Have a feeling those trans cooler lines won't easily budge either.

Im with you on this one

didnt open a single coolant or trans line ....
