• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Whatever happened to those Northern IL meets? (meet L, aka 50)

Almost a year to the date since the last one. Sorry guys, got a whole lot of stuff going on right now, so I mega dropped the ball on these. However, we simply can't NOT have a 50th meet, so I'm back like Nsync. Since most of August is tied up for me, I'm thinking Saturday the 30th of July? This will be another Herrick Lake cookout. I will supply everything like the last couple times, so all attendees will have to do is bring $5/person to contribute to the costs of food/supplies. I actually already bought soft drinks, chips and beef franks over the last couple weeks due to some nice sales I came across. Now we just need people! Come on. Retro is in, and this is sooooooo retro!

Well....thats the day we'll be strapping down the TR to the dyno in joilet...
Hopefully we can at least a rip off 700 or more wheel horsepower before something else breaks.

D! Im down. I got a few buddies that will be there as well. Keep us updated!

Excellent! Official thread is started on w-body.com. When you know for certain how many are coming, please let me know. Need a fairly accurate head count to make sure I have enough food/supplies.

I'm up for a reunion. Officially down for this meet. Will bring $10 to cover us both.

You already know nothing has changed with the situation about you two attending these meets.

Fat Kevin says yer a dick for choosing the same day we did

?? Come on, now. What were the odds that thing would be up and running, let alone you'd have something planned for it the same day? :th_laugh-lol3: How long is that going to take? Can't make it afterwards?

2-3 hours Saturday morningish down in Joilet....maybe? you should pester him

hopefully it can drive to the meet....hopefully with a 750whp sheet.....

Just an FYI, the "situation" has changed and we all need to be friends as friends should be treated considering the recent loss in our families.

And the "old situation" was not fair to be in existence from the beginning of time. So lets support fellow GP members and be a family of friends and car enthusiasts for a lifetime to come.:th_thumbsup-wink:

Plus, as a supporting car meet enthusiast and fellow DHP tuner I will be offering minor adjustments to tunes free of charge.:burnrubber0:

Nothing about the situation has changed, and the above is completely unrelated and irrelevant to a w-body car meet, not to mention 100% inappropriate to be discussing in a public forum.

Again, all irrelevant, as simply being a member of an automotive group does not grant a free pass or eradicate the circumstances behind this specific situation. I'm not interested in a discussion or debate on the matter any further, so please just leave it alone.

There'd be no better place to celebrate that sheet than at a w-body meet. :th_biggrin2: Even if the Regal itself can't drive up there, he should still show up in something.

Big thumbs up to Turbo, that 750HP should do good on being displayed "gracefully" at this meet. And to view those HP numbers.:th_thumbsup-wink:

I'm down to attend. Don't know any of you guys except for Corey (ItHurtz), but whatever. Also running a bone stock GTP, but hey, I did my own LIM's (plus a ton more), so that buys me some street cred right? LOL. I am definitely a GTP enthusiast. Keep me updated.

My backyard is something that D would kill to have with all the stacks of Grand Prix parts as yard ornaments.
All that's missing is some 6000 Ste parts and he'd be right at home.
I wish I could just have a yard sale of 3800 stuff at the meet butt they don't make trailers that big

Once upon a time, that would have been true, James. I'm over the whole modding/customizing old ass cars thing, though. Now I just want the damn thing to run as long as possible. In fact, I'm trying to clear out of all my extra parts.

To update this, I started an official info thread with all the details on w-body.com. http://www.w-body.com/topic/55130-northern-il-w-body-meet-l-herrick-lake-wheaton-july-30th/ If you know you can make it for certain, please let me know so I can add you to the list. If you're on the list and need to drop out for some reason, please also let me know so I can get a better gauge on food and supplies needed. AJ and CHI2000GTP, I already got you guys down.

It would be great if someone could bring a KR scan tool to this meet up. I bought the BlueDriver OBD tool for $100+, because of rave reviews... turns out it doesn't read KR, just codes. Sucks. I need to get a KR reading so I can get my PCM tuned. Despite being stock, I understand that a tune will help with performance. So, if you have one, please bring it. Thanks

Really hate to do this, especially on short notice, but due to the lackluster interest, I'm going to postpone this meet and hope for a better turnout on another date. Really sorry, guys. :(
