Howdy Grand Prix Fam ...

Good evening Grand Prix Fam ...

Just purchased my first Grand Prix from my mother in law last week. I put it in the paint shop and had some rims put on it today. Starting to come alive.

Glad I found this forum! I have already solved a few problems from reading some of the post. I am sure I will have my share of questions as I plan to make this my a project and I am a DIY type of guy.

Is there anyplace online that specializes in Grand Prix parts? So far Ebay has been my main source for parts.

Thanks in advance for all of your help.

One place to check out, since it has a large amount of info on w bodies and the upgrades that you can do for cheap:
http://www.getoverkilled.ca/wbodytech.html
Other sites that carry parts and upgrades:
http://www.wbodystore.com/
http://www.3800performance.com/
If you need anything trans related:
http://shop.tripleedgeperformance.com/main.sc
I hate to put this here, but there's some things you can only get from here...

There's a few things on there that are worth it, most aren't though.

Other than that; amazon, ebay, rockauto or your local auto parts store, sometimes it's cheaper there than online plus shipping.

Thanks a lot. I will check them out.

Is it N/A or Supercharged? Fresh paint always looks good, I want to see some pics. lol

If you have plans to modify it, I would suggest posting a thread in the members rides section, it will help later on.

Supercharged? I wish ..lol
I do plan to do some mods though. I haven't decided which route I will take yet. I'm in California so I have to make sure it stays smog legal ..Lol don't plan to resale anytime soon, or at all so I may go all out on this project and not worry about resale value. I just sold a 914 with a V8 conversion and it was a monster. Wife hated that car. I think she was just jealous.....lol

I'll post some pics this evening. I'm taking the seats out to shampoo the carpet. Took the center console out yesterday to clean it. I got the car from my Mother in Law and she allowed my daughter to use it and she really trashed the car ..smh! So I am cleaning it up.

Thanks again for the recommendations.

na mods are hardly worth it really. and ca sucks for modding.

id work on making it look good. aka appearance mods.

One thing to try and find for the interior is the GXP interior parts, like the chrome vent rings and door handle cups, aluminum pedals, aluminum door handle inserts, and the GXP gauge cluster all look much better than the n/a interior. If you have the motivation, you can also replace the factory shifter with a leather shift boot and aluminium knob... Those always look better than plastic.

Also there's the exterior upgrades, like the se front lip, the inferno hood, spo spoiler and grill, retrofit headlights, so on and so forth.

On the matter of tinting the tail lights, and lowering as well, some are for it, some are against it, some think it's a waste of time and energy but still say it looks good, make your own decision.
