New Play car ideas/thoughts

I always get good advice on this forum so I thought id post this question here.

Im looking for a second car to be my play toy.

I have about 15k to spend, but less is better
needs to be 06 or newer (bank)
I want 0-60 to be less than 6 seconds, and the 1/4 under 14
No fwd

So far my top choice is a 2008 BMW 335i, I drove it, and I loved the torque, the composure and the upscale interior.
ive also driven an infinity g35, and didn't really fit inside.
Edit: also in the running is a Ford Taurus SHO.

Ill knock off a few cars that ive looked into:
Mustang : Insurance is too high
G8: cant find a decent one for the price
CTS-V same as the G8

Appreciate any advice

buy my V. i'll walk for $15k.

otherwise why don't you look into an OLDER vehicle? i'm dead set on picking up a 63-66 chevy C10 fleetside long wheelbase when i get into my new house and can start spending money again.

Id love to buy your V, But my banks making me stay 06 or newer.

the first gen cts-v went from 04-07, so you should be able to find one new enough. I think the GTO was also about the same time frame. an 06-07ish GTO rocks the 6.0 LS2 sporting 400 hp at the crank, I think the CTS-V has the LS6, which makes the same hp.

edit: 2006 was the last year of the new GTO

You already figured it out dude. 335i.

E85, a few bolt ons, and you'll have that thing a beast. And for like 12k you can get an 08 or 09.

get a better bank. on my car when i bought it they were going to loan me way more than i needed to buy it without even questioning it.

although, they were holding value better a few years back. now you can find them all over for $10-12k in near stock-ish trim. modded you are looking around $15-18k, but most of the parts on the car are necessary to make it what it needs to be. mine is a clutch away from being ready to be driven forever, but there's no way you're not going to do a cam.

04-05 is LS6, 06-07 is LS2.

How did you find yours? Ive looked all over and cant find one that's not ridiculously high miles(150k+) or a junk heap.

The one I want to buy is 11,300 out the door, 101k miles great condition. Im just afraid to buy a Higher mileage bimmer.

I would look at 05-06 GTO's can be had in your price range and has an LS2 or you can look at the 04 ones that come with the LS1. and everyone knows the modding/power potential that comes with the LS engine

look farther away. i was looking within about 1000 miles from home.

i took a flight out, paid the man, drove home.

screw gto's i thought the same until i looked at what they cost besides engine parts!

OP needs to go mustang and eat the insurance bill and say fvck it.

You do know about all the problems on the N54,dontcha? Parts are more but doable.

Regardless 11300 wouldn't be a bad price. Does it have the sport suspension?

There is/was a local 2010 535i for 12900 (also 101,000) I am crying about

I test drove a Taurus SHO fell in love and bought it. Goes to show that I still have a thing for Big plush sleepers.
87k miles 15k out the door. Loaded with the cooled seats, mood lighting adaptive Cruise control. Going back today to close the financing, might invest in a warranty.
