Ok, so I have researched alot on the e85 and gen v swap, in regaurds to pulley size and knock. I am sorry in advance if this has been posted to death, just would like some input from memebers. I would Like to thank everyone in advance. Although I dont post much this website has been more than helpful with my build! So thank you to all those who take the time to help everyone. I have a 2000 gtp, swaping to a gen v, My question is what pulley can I run and not seen knock. Everything I have read is the gen v is = to about .2 drop in pulley size. I do have a areoforce scan gauge and currently running no knock on my 3.4 setup. I also will note that I am switching to e85, and have a tune lined up shortly after getting the swap done! I will have to drive about 60 to 70 miles to tune the car. The e85 fuel will be changed during the tune, and currently running 93 octane. My cars mods are as follows.1 *Thanks again to everyone who reads this and everyone who posts to the site. Truly have enjoyed building this car, and it wouldn't have been possible without this site and the information in which it provides!*

2000 gtp 2 door coupe:

mods:

3.4 pulley currently on mps
1.9 zzp rockers
CAI
104 autolight plugs
trans go shift kit
zzp 1.0 pcm
Ported l67 zzp throttle body
L67/gen v adapter plate
aem wideband
areoforce scan gauge
gen v (getting put on now)
#60 lb injectors (getting put on now)
SD headers
180* t stat
e85 (which will be done at the time of the tune)

I also have a 3.6 pulley and belt which I could put on for the drive to my tuner, which was what I plan on doing. I will take the 3.4 pulley with me and see if I can run it. Guess my question was anyone out there running a 3.4 on this set up? Think i can? or will I need to put a intercooler on it to see no knock? My hopes are the e85 will allow me to drop to a 3.4 and add timming. just curious on anyones thoughts or experince with this, Thanks again everyone

I've never run E85, but it has an octane rating of 110 or so, and I would imagine you could go even smaller than a 3.4 with it.

on corn you could run a 3.0 no problem. no ic needed when using corn. ic is for 93 octane gas and sub 3.4 pulleys.

and if you need to drive to your tuner, change the injectors when you get to him, cause it wont run right with 60's untuned on gas still.

I was going to say that too, I watched a video of a guy with 60's on and no tune and the car ran like complete dog sh!t. the guy was like "why is my car running this bad?" he was kind of a dummy.

i ran my car with gen5 tog headers 60# injectors on e85 and 3.4 just fine didnt have any issues with it and the car was sold on sunday so i dunno now. i told the guy it was on e85 sent him the gas pcm also and a bigger pulley too.

yes my car was tuned for the e85 amd 60s though.

im just saying a 3.4 will be fine on e85 and those mods.

3.4 would be fine, but why short change yourself when you can go smaller safely?

ok sorry forgot to say, I did order a updated pcm from zzp for the #60 injectors. I was just nervous about running a 3.4 pulley on the gen V swap. If I can get away with it I would ove to drop to a 3.2 and add timming! I dont plan on intercooling it at this point. If I could go back and do it all over again I would have xp camed it from the start. That being said I have take the car just about as far as i would like to go with it. I also am worried about the stock tranny at this point. How far can I go with it before I start breaking things? Alot of info out there on it, but finding a soild answer has been pretty tough. I have the 4t56e-hd. I doubt I will be over 300whp, which was the goal. But that concerns me. The car is wonderful as it sits now. I can only imagine what the tune and e85 will do for it. I just have reached the point of fun daily driver, or really going all out with it.

your mod list will put you about 300 hp, ( with the 3.0) and thats putting you right at the trannys limits. if you drive it like you stole it all day long, you will be getting a new tranny sooner then later.

you and i got the same mods pretty much, but im on gas with a ic and 3.2. once you drop under a 3.4 your never putting the 3.4 back on. a 3.0-3.2 the power level is turned up to an addicting amount of power lol

LMAO! thats what I was worried about! building this car has truly become some what of an obsession! Im sure there is a thread on here, but since I have your attention I will ask. Trust me Im a geek when it comes to this stuff now, so upgrading the 1" chain with the gear conversion kit, and a bigger convertor than stock, Would that give my tranny a bit more grrr to it?!? enough that I can have a little peice of mind? Im not taking this thing to the track, honestly I get on it every now and then but mainly just like to unleash it once in a while. I like it being a sleeper if you will, I dont run it that hard, that often. I just have seen the built 4t65e-hd trannys for sale....and yeah dropping 2k doesn't sound like alot of fun, and again you guys are great man! wonderful community with this forum, so agian thank you guys so much for the input.

news flash, that gmr 1 inch chain might cost you 2 grand on its own. you cant find em no more. they are worth more then gold now.

id not get a higher stall for daily driving. you would need a input shaft at the min as far as upgrades go. tep is where you want to go tho. and if you do get his valve body too.

im pushing the 300 hp range myself, my tranny is a used 150,000 mile tranny i dropped in there 10,000 miles ago with a new 4 th hub and a shift kit. i squeal the tires easing into it off the line still. some times it will shift early on me, cause sadly, its not wot and spinning a bit still.

rule one is no burn outs. that will kill your tranny quick. its not the spinning, but the suddon stop of the burn out that will snap parts on you.

also the 3-1 shifts, if you hammer it and down shift into first hard a lot, bye bye input shaft. ive broke the wheels free and smoked them at 30 mph by accident passing some tool bag. i think i showed him lol never did that again either, dont want to.

Like I said I never drive it that hard, manly let it go from a dig or slower roll. I will keep all that in mind. Just wanted to say thanks for the input and I'll post the dyno results here in next couple of weeks I'm very excited!

question on the e85 when doing the switch. how do switch the fuel without running the 60's on gas or gas on an e85 tune? because filling up requires the gas station. I figured drop the 60's in baby it to gas station fill up e85 from near empty and swap pcms.

run the gas real low, have a 5 gallon can of e85 at home? add that, do your pcm and injectors and what not, run that low again and fill up with e85.

Don't forget to change the fuel filter 157,000 times.

Fixed it....

You will like corn.... your car will like corn....

Timing is great and all but my car likes boost more than timing with corn.

Who is doing your tuning? (I only ask because you are in my area and Im curious)

I hear there is a white sedan for sale that makes turbo noises but isn't turbo but it's quick enough with a FULL interior.
