xp cam with 130 lb springs rev limit

is 6388 too high to rev an L67 with an XP cam and 130 lb springs. I set the rev limit at 6300 and of course it wont shift exactly where the limit is set so it ended up shifting at about 6388. I'm trying to squeeze out a faster 1/8th mile time, so holding first gear at higher rpm's should help, I just don't want to blow the thing up. the transmission is a built dynotech and is supposed to have all the bells and whistles.

Trans should be fine, valve train would the problem if there was one, I think you should be fine. If you worried dial it back a little to 6250 and you should right about 6300 when it shifts.

the crazy thing that I don't understand, and so far no one else has understood, is that I had some kr at higher rpm's, and have for a long time, when I turned up the transmission line pressure, the kr went away. thanks for the info.

It might have to do with the tcc, I've read that it can give false knock if the settings aren't right. Small things can cause false knock too bad mounts, something flapping around the engine bay near the sensors.

You should be fine at that rpm. I used to shift about 6500-6600 with an xp and 130's.

thanks for the input. I'm going to see how much timing I can add, and then consider a pulley drop and/or a wet nitrous kit. I've been fighting this kr forever, and hopefully I have it figured out now.
