Best springs to pair with KYB AGX?

Hey guys. I've currently got "w-body store" lowering springs with agx struts, and it feels like the springs are too stiff for the struts to fully dampen. I've got anti-Pogo washers and it's still very harsh on any of the 4 shock settings. I chose these springs because they didn't lower the rear much (hate that saggy ass look) but I can't stand the ride quality. Any opinions on what springs would be a little stiffer than stock but not rock hard like these? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
 


Depends what you want out of it, Vogtlands are the most preferred springs around here. However Vogtlands have a tendency to sag, Eibachs are also good but they'll sag. SSCs are your best bet for an even stance or a little bit of rake. Also before anyone else tells you, I'll let you know that you probably wasted your money on the AGXes.
 
technically the only ones that'll work properly are the vogtlands (GMPP) or stock. the struts still aren't designed to be lowered on even if they're a performance variant of the stock replacements.

that being said you can put whatever you want on them and be fine. you're still only going to get similar life out of them in comparison to stock struts (if new).

I love a little rake. Thats why I went with the current springs. But they are way too stiff. The struts are trying very hard, it's close to riding really good. I just think the springs are too much. I cant even get the car to budge by pushing down on the front end or anything. Ive got a 98 Z28 f-body with strano springs, and it rides like a Buick compared to the Grand Prix. Are factory springs too soft? I bought it with lowering springs on it so im not sure what it would even drive like with the stock springs back on it.

Vogtlands are your ideal springs. They're ideal for pretty much 99% of applications, get yourself some coil rubber or something and when the rear starts sagging put them on the rear and it'll help the rear not squat when standing still. Also Vogtlands and Strano are same companies I believe, if you like your Strano F-body springs you'll love the Vogtlands for our cars. Also diminish wheel gap as much as you can with tire size. There's plenty of guys with Vogtlands that have very little wheel gap and you don't notice the rear sag that much. Other than that take spare tire/everything out of the trunk or kick out rear passengers.

Ah good to know. But yeah Vogtlands are pretty much your ideal springs, the rear springs for the Vogtlands make the car feel a little lazy and less snappy though but I assume you're not making an autox monster so it doesn't matter.

Thank you all for your support! Ive been lurking on these forums since I was like 13. Im 21 now. Always wanted a GTP, first car was a 90 Bonneville. Love Love Loved that car. I re-did all the suspension on that car and it handled very well. In the Process of re-doing all the suspension on this car also. So it sounds like Vogtlands are the way to go! I just wish I could find some Bilstein's for the w-bodys that aren't so crazy expensive.
 
What's everyone's opinion on Vogtlands with KYB Excel G's? Is Vogtland Part # 959206? Same for both F and R?

I have KYB Excel G's on SSC's and I will admit that they were perfect at first, but as of right now I am experiencing more bounce than I would like but I have a 50 mile round trip commute for work, so it was bound to happen. Thinking of switching to AGX's next as they're due for replacement, love the look though.

This is true. I would not mind it sitting a little higher. Im not sure if the bilstein's would be the same as the koni's on my camaro, but the whole mono-tube thing is no joke. It does not let the tire drop into expansion joints, and over big "whoopdee's" The shocks don't even let the car hit the bump stops. It's kinda amazing. That's the type of ride im after. But you get what you pay for, and I still cant justify spending almost 1k on struts for a car that is rusting out anyway
 


I'm using the agx with vogtlands
I have the struts set on the 2 setting I like it there firm but not hurt back/ kidneys firm. But if you put 20lbs or more in the trunk it starts to look like poop.

What makes me mad is the struts have only been on my car for little over year. I drove them twice in the snow as in 38 miles total because my winter beater broke down the struts have started to rust on them the rest of the car didn't rust and the factory struts I took off had less rust. Wouldn't be mad if they some cheapo ones. They still work fine but just grinds my gears some.
