Gtp lo boost

I have an 01 gtp and have a ported supercharger, 3.6 pulley, tog headers, zzp 3.0 downpipe, Flowmaster exhaust, intake, 1.0 pcm and I am pushing full boost on my d.i.c but on my gauge I am only reaching around 5-7psi I'm am under the impression the 97-03 model gtps stock have 8 psi stock, I changed my boost bypass valve, and vacuum lines and nothing changed any ideas?

Who ported the supercharger? And what does it look like? Could be that it's such a poor porting job that it's just that bad. And a downpipe and headers??

your car is far from stock, I would be happy with the 5-7 lbs of boost with those mods. my car has an xp cam, ported L32 heads, headers, a stock gen 3 with a stock pulley and hasn't made more than 4 lbs of boost in some time. any time you increase airflow or increase exhaust flow, your boost pressure goes down.

Thanks for the reply and I didn't take that into account

All boost is...is a measurement of restriction.

The less boost, the less restriction the motor has.

Just because you make 5, and the guy next to you makes 10, doesn't mean he is going to faster or make more power.

Timing & AFR in these cars > High Boost levels (especially on GenIII blower cars that are horribly inefficient).

You'll learn eventually.

all a turbo or supercharger does is increase the pressure inside the engine, so the air of the atmosphere can fill the void created by the pressure. anything that increases the exhaust flow out of the engine will reduce the boost pressure.

Thanks for the reply and I was asking for the reason being I thought I may have a leak somewhere and after not finding one or anything wrong I wanted to be insured there were no issues and never thought about it like that

i like you

one of my step brother friends got a baby turbo car (dodge dart turbo) and was telling me that he wants to make 30 lbs of boost im like wtf no you don't want that you want to worry about the flow. better flow in and out makes more power. then he looked up what i was saying and then told me that i was right geee go figure creeping on this forum help out lol. i told him to get a tune on it and to run 91/93 in it. he was like well the owners manual says you can run 87 in it and i told him :th_BSflag-big: its needs the higher octane fuel. so now he run 91 in it and the engine is happy lol

they set up those cars to be able to run on mid grade. I have a Cruze with the 1.4 turbo engine, and the book says you can put mid grade in. I put premium in because it makes more power and seems to get better gas mileage.
