Hello DC1263 it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?

Here goes...

North Carolina Law states 35% min light transmittance.

The factory tint is at 70%,

If I apply a 50% tint, wouldn't that leave me at 35% ???

no, you have to get the percentage you want. get 35% tint if you want the 35% to be read from a police gauge.

i got 15% on my car all the way around. the first time i got pulled over it read 17% (i was angry :p). second time i got pulled over it read 15%. go with the shade you want to achieve in the end, there is no such thing as a factory tint except on mini vans and trucks in the rear windows.

wow cops suck lol

Not all of us do..... I would never give a tint ticket since im 5% on my GTP but just remember why its illegal. It does make it hard for us to see you as we approach the car. So be polite and roll driver side window down front and back(if 4 door). You would be surprised how far curtiousy gets you.

I rolled mine down and the trooper made me roll it half way back up so he could scan it. Mind you this was in town being pulled over by a state trooper on the way to school.

Yea just boils down to the officer. some are jerks no matter what you do. But we do deal with complete morons on a daily basis so plz forgive us for the few bad moods we have lol.
