I think the power steering lines might be hitting the bottom part of the rear exhaust manifold. Is there something heat resistant I can wrap them in that will dampen their vibration?

The only thing that comes to mind are those spark plug sleeves. Maybe wrap those around the power steering lines to avoid heat transfer.

id bend the line out of the way a bit.

all my lines and sway bar looked pretty close too. i put some masking tape on areas that looked like it maybe hitting, the tape would show if any even light contact was going on. nothing was hitting.

Not a bad idea. I'd have to cut the sleeves and glue them out clamp them to hold them on. I might have a bicycle tie to use for the dampening

Redneck inovation lol.

Yeah, just pick up a set and cut them and wrap them around the line. If you do a thick enough layer, it might be enough to be a dampener as well.

about a year ago I bought a set of radiator fan spacers that would pull the fan closer to the radiator and give more clearance for the headers. I installed them yesterday. I didn't see any clearance issues between the fan and radiator after the work was done. today, on the drive from the house back up to the cabin where we live, I noticed the low coolant light come on. I kept my eye on temperatures, and they were normal so we just kept driving. When we got to the cabin, I pop the hood and look at the fan, and it was touching the radiator, and I could see coolant on the outside of the radiator in the engine bay. I waited an hour for the engine to cool down, and then added water to the radiator. it took about a quart, and I didn't see any leak out.

3 questions: is it safe to assume the radiator will hold fluid, as long as it is not pressurized? with that much fluid out of the system, could the water pump have run dry? would it be safe to turn the fans off until I replace the radiator?

theres no coolant in those lines, tranny fluid, and ac lines is whats there.

check the sides of the rad for cracks, or the fins are leaking from the fan hitting them and it drips down and the fans blows it all over.

top it off then when its hot and up to temp, squeeze the upper hose while running, it will force it to leak.

Spacers are going in the trash. When I got to work today the leeking coolant was streaming of the radiator. It scared me a little

keep adding till you get a new rad, or park it, no long drives thats for sure.

I can only imagine the problems if he tries to replace the radiator!

I'm not going to do it myself, and on a different topic, when we move back to Kemmerer, I found a place that sells e85 at the pump. It's ninety miles away so id have to buy it by the barrel

Then sell the car asap, a radiator is like changing your own oil.... that easy.
