Borla XR1 Muffeler and no Res?

There's no best exactly.

You get the longest one that you can fit. Put it right where the stock resonator was right in the tunnel.

It goes behind the downpipe in the straight section right? It's been 4 years since I put my slp catback on can't remember? Does anyone have a specific size that is best for a 2000 gtp? I have slp exhaust from motor back I want something stainless and good quality.

You see the resonator. Get underneath the car and measure how much piping you have where the resonator should of been (probably in the 30-34" range then go and find one that will work from magnaflow etc.

Don't overthink this

Are you telling me to get a stock resonator? or are you just showing me where it goes? SLP has there resonator to match the rest of my exhaust but it's only 18" overall length the resonator parts itself is 14" is that to small?

My post was purely "FYI". Take from it what you will.

The longer the resonator, the less drone. I would question how loud a 14" resonator would be. Probably be obnoxious.

What do you mean you would question how loud? If it was 14"?
Do you want loud?

Having no resonator is obnoxious with drone. A 14" resonator should be loud and somewhat obnoxious with drone. A 26" resonator (that most people use) is nice and quiet. Those 12" make a huge difference.

You think so? I dont get much drone I just want to tone down the raspy sound under deaccleration if possible.
It will get rid of the raspy. I had stock mufflers with no resonator and it was raspy decelerating. Then I put Borla's on; took the raspy to a hole nother level. Put on the stock resonator and she is just right (for me).

Yea I like loud I feel like it's loud but not to loud right now I've never had a resonator on the car is why I ask so l don't know what it's like to have one.... I put a slp cat back exhaust and it doesn't come with a resonator so that's why and I never really thought about it. I have slp headers to with no cat either the car is cammed and built pretty good so it's obnoxious anyways.

I like how it sounds now I just don't care for the raspy sound under quick deaccleration or if you rev it up that's all I'd want it for.

Being that the resonator will loose the raspy, but also loose some of the loud/sound, I think you will have to settle one way or the other. That sucks. LOL

I'm thinking if I put the 14" slp resonator in it'll still keep some of the sound and get rid of most of the raspy. How much quieter will a 14" resonator make it you think?

Well, being what I went through, I'd say it "should" make a little bit of a difference. Do it and advise us. LOL

It's the "wheeze" sound you get when the rpmmgoes between 3-4K. the drone , at least for me ,
comes once the car is over 45 , in 4th coverter locked and cruising (steady throttle
to maintain speed)

the he resonators help reduce that drone and keeping the cat and res help reduce the wheeze effect. Aka the bark
