Hey guys so im putting together all the parts for my top swap and have read through all the threads on here, i just have two questions. The first is i have a 99 gt so my fuel injector clips will work with the supercharged correct? Finally im trying to find some heads right now but have had no luck except for ones with over 175xxx miles. Are miles on heads that big of a deal as long as you have them resurfaced maybe a valve job anything else? Thanks guys

Miles don't matter a whole lot. Getting them cleaned up never hurts.

And 9/10 used heads will already have a crack between at least one of the valves, not something to worry about as they affect nothing.

So would i need a valve job? And is there anything i should replace? Like spring etc.

the injector clips should be the same, but you also need the l67 rail and injectors, if your junk yard hunting just take it all.

if your looking for jy heads, id at least lap the valves, and change the springs and valve seals. if your planning on rockers or a cam with it, springs need to happen anyways.

then as long as you got em in hand, you can always port them or at least clean them up. inside the ports is so rough. any smooting will help it flow better.

stock casting in the exhaust port they all look like this.

with some time invested you can make em pretty.

Can i use these same tools to port my soon to be new lim, supercharger, and possibly rear exaust manifold

Ok so with the SD headers i would also need an o2 extension correct? Anything else?

two 2.25 band clamps, two, 3 inch band clamps, unless you need a cat, then you can weld the cat in and not need the two 3 inch clamps.

reuse the stock head to manifold gaskets. toss all the gaskets and clamps they give you in the trash, all but the cat back gasket, use that one.

yes you need a o2 extension. and maybe a new rear o2 if yours dont come out the dp. or a tune with the rear o2 deleted. you will need a tune for this.

Well ill need a new tune anyway for the top swap now i know having a tune would be best from a shop with a dyno and stuff but how would an intense or reptile tune work out?

id get a reptile tune cause hes about as cheap as your gonna find, and his tunes are pretty good too.

or buy a tuner and tune it yourself. dhp box runs like 250 ish brand new.

Thanks kaiser now i just need you to work me a deal on those heads and maybe some other stuff if their in good shape!
